Wasn't he offered a 40 year prison sentence in a plea deal? He thought justice would be served being that he didn't shoot Nick. He was wrong. I wouldn't take the plea if I was innocent for sure. I'd rather be on death row for something I didn't do then plea out. I guess that's my Texas Pride in me though. He wasn't innocent of robbery and 40 years for robbery is about average I believe.

He was charged with Capital Murder which is a death sentence. He never dreamed he would be on death row. He refused to take the plea offer because he didn't murder Nick.

My dad was a prosecuting attorney and a defense attorney.....I know for a fact there is much injustice here in the State of Texas....falsely accused, innocent in prison.

If you want to look him up, he was an Attorney in Grayson County, TX. His name is Joe Max Shelton. That way you can verify his information.
He's dead now, but there is still information online in various legal sites.

You know, I can understand some bickering here and there between boards and stuff. But to go to a web site such as Richard's and post things for his family to see is just not right. That's taking it too far. That's just not right.

I support the Death Penalty. I will never support stuff like that. It is sick.

That's taking it too far. That's just not right. Like I said before, Rich's Condolence Book is heavily moderated so I try to protect Irene and family from the sicko's out there.

Good. I was going to ask about that. A child does not need to read stuff like that about her dad...

Good. I was going to ask about that. A child does not need to read stuff like that about her dad... That's totally right Mike. ALL messages have to be approved before they are seen on the Book. It a pain in the ass but it's the only way to shield this grieving family. Thanks for your support btw Mike (yesterday!) Miles

No problem. It is good that you can do that. I do not like censorship, but a child has to be protected from fools and mean people that do not understand that she is an innocent...

Mikebook,
I'm so happy that you recognized that Rich's daughter is an innocent victim, just like all of Rich's family and friends. I knew Rich's case very well, and know that Rich was not guilty. To understand the DP in Texas one has to fully understand the entire process, and it's not like anywhere else in the entire country. Fair trial, and full review--doens't happen in Texas.
For the reason above is enough not to support the DP. It is so full of flaws and mistakes, and creates an entire new set of victims.
