Rich didn't shoot Nick. He shouldn't have been executed for something he didn't do.
Being part of the robbery, Rich deserved to be in prison a long long time, but not the death penalty.

Being part of the robbery makes him just as guilty. Chances are he knew what was going down. He's a murderer and he paid his price. It's sad for his family and his friends that he was executed but face the facts he brought that to them not someone else. He could have got a job at a Walmart or gas station and would still be alive today but instead chose the bad road and did something stupid and wrecked some innoncent family forever. He is responsible for hurting everyone around him.

Rich was executed for shooting Nick. He didn't shoot Nick. I don't believe in the death penalty, but if they were going to execute him from just being part of the Robbery than thats what he should have been executed for. The State of Texas executed Richard Cartwright for a crime he did not commit.

FYI:
PARTIES AND THE US SUPREME COURT The US Supreme Court held that imposition of the death penalty on a person who aids and abets a felony in the course of which a murder is committed by others but who does not himself kill, attempt to kill, or intend to kill violates the 8th and 14th Amendments of the US Constitution. (Edmund v. Florida 458 US 782, 1982)
Five years after the Edmund decision the Supreme Court created an exception to this general rule for those guilty of a murder that occurs in the commission of a felony who do not kill or intend to kill, but who have major personal involvement in the felony and display a reckless indifference to human life. (Tison v. Arizona, 481 US 137, 1987)

Rich didn't kill Nick and the State of Texas executed him.
Richard Cartwright isn't the only innocent man executed.

I can't imagine who would stoop so low to write anything in such sacred territory negative about Rich. If anyone wants to debate Rich's guilt or innocence please have them contact me. As his investigator I would be more than happy to show them the innocence. It breaks my heart, but this entire country will soon know the impact that Rich had on so many lives! ;D I don't know if you read what Tina had to say, but read it.....you might find it interesting.

Being part of the robbery, Rich deserved to be in prison a long long time, but not the death penalty. Wasn't he offered a 40 year prison sentence in a plea deal?

Being part of the robbery, Rich deserved to be in prison a long long time, but not the death penalty. Wasn't he offered a 40 year prison sentence in a plea deal? He thought justice would be served being that he didn't shoot Nick. He was wrong. I wouldn't take the plea if I was innocent for sure. I'd rather be on death row for something I didn't do then plea out. I guess that's my Texas Pride in me though.
