Because MVS does not equal the family of the executed inmate...All are innocent but they are not the same. And the inmates family does not have any right to claim any rights that the victims family should get by the State or public opinion.

Things will change. If your not worried about it, you wouldn't be fighting with me about it. You are worried that we are being heard more and more each day.
Pros on the proboard are worried, otherwise, there wouldn't be a proboard.
If the death penalty was abolished, I wouldn't be here chatting with you....but until then, I'll be fighting it with the many other anti's.

They deserve respect, mike. The other victims deserve respect. You are posting on a board full of other victims. You do respect us, now don't you?

I doubt it will be abolished again. It is too popular, especially in the South...

When have I called you a name other than your name or handle? I may disagree with you on this issue but I would never try to change your mind by force because you have your rights and I have mine. But I will disagree with you...

I have not used that many 4 letter words...(only 4 in this sentence...)
But I do not think that victims family should be lumped with inmates family. That is just plain wrong...and does not equal the same thing...

I'm adding this here in case any of you pass up my first post in which I modified:
To clarify something, I am an MVS being that the man I love was murdered. Yes, in case you didn't catch that, I am an MVS. And I'm against the death penalty.
Also, I've explained to pros time and time again that I am MVS, however, they still talk as if NONE of us anti's are MVS, when I've explained to more than one, and I know I explained this to.....well, you know who you are.

And, Mike, this one is for you: “I am not convinced that capital punishment, in and of itself, is a deterrent to crime because most people do not think about the death penalty before they commit a violent or capital crime.” – Willie L. Williams, Police Chief, Los Angeles, CA source: www.mnadvocates.org/Fact_Sheet__Deterrence.html

I also believe that the appeals process is too long, and that the prison is the worng place to have an execution. The inmate should have a year and a day to prove his innocence, and if he cannot, be executed at the courthouse in the county where the crime happened on the front step... The crooks would learn real fast about the death penalty then, would they not...
