Actually thats a falsity. He does not get 40 letters a day and five marriage proposals. According to his mother he rec'd one marriage proposal from a stranger that he never heard from before or since. San Quentin has been allowing their info officer to pass out all kinds of erroneous information (see thread San Quentin Information Officer).
We are a human rights org that has been working against the DP for 8 years for almost 1000 death row prisoners. Maggie and others like her are very knowledgeable about the case; Maggie attended parts of the trial and knows many of the principals. She is very aware of the issues in the case; and the greater issues regarding the DP in general. You are way off if you think she is some uneducated 'fan'. The media has created this idea of Peterson 'fans'. The people here are legal and or human rights activists with an interest in the case.

These "fans" and people that are obsessed with Scott need to take a hike. What person in their right mind would send a marriage proposal to a complete stranger. You can tell by reading some posts, even on this board that people are obsessed with Scott and I find it sickening. And who would brag about sending Scott 250 letters? Supporting him is one thing but some people need to get a life!

I don't feel bad for Scott! I feel bad for his family and for he Rocha's! They are the ones that got to live with his mess and they are the ones that lost a daughter and grandkid all because he didn't want to change his lifestyle?I think that he truely likes the publicity that he gets or he wouldn't mention that his letters get sold or he wouldn't post a penpal ad on CCADP. Doesn't he get enough mail already? shadez, Let me ask you a question.... why are YOU hanging around this section? You remind me of an old poster here, "Mike", he didn't have anything better to do either. If you would have read my previous post, I said the ISSUES in this case are bigger than Scott Peterson, I didn't say anything about an area on a message board. My point to you is you can complain and bash Scott Peterson all you want.... the support he has WILL NOT GO AWAY. If you don't like it.... TOO BAD! Again Maggie, you are living in your own world. You do not know ANY facts about the case at all and you show your ignorance each time you open your mouth. If you ever bothered to take the time and research it, you would see from the CDOC on what he receives in the mail. So don't go tooting your own horn until your smart enough to wake up and learn the truth. I never "Bashed" Scott, I even said I felt bad for him in someway, as I believe the entire prison system is corrupt. But this is about innocent or guilt and you obviously have no experience to make the comments you make. So until then, don't try judging my credentials.

Supporting him is one thing but some people need to get a life! I personally believe that the women that proposed to Scott are "death row groupies" that desperately crave attention. Meeting a condemned inmate and falling in love is one thing--but I think the women that fell for Scott are actually falling for his infamy. It is just like Richard Ramirez--women proposed to him because he was a "bad boy". But, they know they are not in danger because he is locked up. It is a chance to live an exciting life without any real danger involved. It is kind of like why we like to go to the zoo and see the lions. We know there is little danger because they are locked up. However, if the lions were roaming free, not too many of us would like to be near them.

CNN, ABC, CBS, Geraldo, Larry King, Court TV (The entire trial was broadcast Live) and MANY others, so I get what you are saying. 7 years on, Josh gets HUGE amounts of mail. even today. Why? A few reason's. He's a very handsome boy and his case is extremely high profile. Doesn't say a lot about society? If Josh was 4 foot 2 and ugly as hell, he'd never get ANY attention! Society speaks, no doubt! Miles

Maggie is clearly not a "groupie", her and others here who support Scott know a lot more about his case than I do. Maybe instead of putting her down, those who think Scott is guilty (including myself) shouldn't talk down to her because of her knowledge about the case.
Not all of you, but 1 or 2 of you are completely disrespectful to her and other supporters by repeatedly coming in here and making statements like "you are living in your own world" which is completely disrespectful. Please refrain from similar remarks.

However, if she was one of the women that proposed to him, then I guess I am talking about her. I made a simple comment that was generalized.

I just making everyone aware of Maggie being educated about Scott's case.....and some state disrespectful remarks about her and other "supporters".

I am a supporter of Scott, and one of the ones the media contacted. I had decided to talk to them, but could never reach an agreement with them about what the tone of the program would be. I told the media person I spoke to that I would do nothing and/or say anything that could be seen as negative towards SP. I told him I'd need affirmation that that would be the case and he dropped out of sight. I haven't been contacted since. I had changed my mind after talking to him anyway and would have said so had he been in touch after that. I had written to Scott telling him about the contact, but it was directly after that that Scott couldn't write any more. I was never offered money, and I would NEVER have taken it if I had been. Since I've had no personal contact with Scott since the incident I live in the fear he thinks I was one of the ones who sold him out. I am not one who would do something like that to someone I DIDN'T like, much less some one I care for. I only hope he knows I am not one of those awful people. Ruth Thats exactly what he meant; that has happened; people that presented themselves as supporters and then tried to sell their stories and some even sold letters from what I understand. There's a thread here ( i think in specific cases) where people can leave personal messages and good wishes that will be printed up and mailed to Scott by CCADP or Maggie...
