"7/21 Thank You For me, the amount of support we have received is just incredible. Those who have decided to reach out to our family have made such a difference. The thoughtfulness and benevolence shown is a source of strength and spirit, an affirmation of considerate community. In every conversation among our family there is always the mention of your thoughts and letters. At mail call I am encouraged by, and enjoy hearing from people. I wish I could respomnd to express my gratitude, and continue to correspond. However, people having sold my notes, and sometimes fabricating content, preclude me from doing so. It is an irritating, unfortunate situation. I am tremendously appreciative of your kindness, it has such a wonderful positive effect upon our family."

Thats exactly what he meant; that has happened; people that presented themselves as supporters and then tried to sell their stories and some even sold letters from what I understand. There's a thread here ( i think in specific cases) where people can leave personal messages and good wishes that will be printed up and mailed to Scott by CCADP or Maggie...

Hey guys... it really is disgusting that some people will exploit a situation like this for personal gain, but it happens. Those people don't care about justice, only themselves. Look past the media garbage and consider the facts of Scott's case. He deserves support because he is innocent on DR...... this is my opinion but I feel many others would feel the same if they knew the facts of the case. The websites that support Scott are packed full of information.... I urge people to pass on the media brainwashing and get the real story. All the links are on his CCADP page

It is very sad that Scott has been forced to stop communicating with the people who truly do support him because of the attention mongers who are trying to make a buck off of his misery. It's a sad, sad world when someone writes to someone and pretends to be their friend and then betrays such a personal confidence as a letter. It's sickening.

On this note:
Someone purchased Scott's former residence for 10,000 over the asking price. One could speculate that the extra money was earmarked for a defense fund.
No... it was the same thing discussed in this thread. A report I read in the Sacramento Bee stated that the new residents found a knife in a cupboard in the pool area, presumably with blood on it.
They are not smart people... as the investigators in the case presumably found a single hair in a boat, but missed a blood tainted knife in a otherwise empty cupboard?
I have not seen any follow up reports, but these new residents should be charged, if found guilty of trying to exploit this case for personal financial gain.
MPD may have demonstrated inept and biased behavior and skills in their investigation... but I doubt they would have touted a hair over a blood tainted knife.
These people... along with Amber Frey, and Scott's half sister, who wrote books to cash in, should be ashamed of their immoral if not illegal behavior.
From my perspective, it seems that those who condemn others, often do so with immoral behavior themselves... the same type of behavior they condemn.
It is like sharks feeding on a wounded fish... therefore I think it is just nature. As humans however, we tout ourselves as reasonable organisms that are supposed to be above this... thus we judge other life forms and our own based on our reasonableness.
Actions such as these suggest to me that perhaps, if not simply hypocritical, greedy or oportunistic... we are not as superior in intellect and morality as is generally assumed.

Scott himself is a master manipulater. I find it interesting that he makes sure to mention that his words have a value and can get a price if you sell them on EBAY! That just proves to me that inmate Peterson loves the fact that his own story is still on the front page and can generate a buck and as long as it does he will ride that wave and hope that you folks will send in 5 bucks and buy a SAVESCOTTSLIFE plastic bracelet! Who are you to judge Scott as a "master manipulator"?? Do you know the man? Have you ever met the man? Why don't you stick to the facts of the case..... my guess is you don't know them.

I can't agree with you more! The guy that purchased the house for 10k more than the asking price is a mortgage broker and he is living there with his daughter! He said that he found the knife and that it had a brownish liquid that looked like blood or maybe BBQ sauce! So he sold his story to the Enquire first before going to the police? sounds as if he was more concerned about recoverying his 10k more than finding the murder weapon! On this note: Someone purchased Scott's former residence for 10,000 over the asking price. One could speculate that the extra money was earmarked for a defense fund.
