The basic thing is THIS in a nutshell you can banter back n forth pro veiws vs anti veiws til the very end of time but here in the United States matters of capital punishment are generally decided on a basis of whatever the majority of resident's of a particular US State want and until a mass majority in that state decide they wish to do away with the DP no matter what you wish or desire does not matter and you will change or effect nothing thats not an oppinion ...just pure simple truth Yeah....until then, we'll keep providing information, i.e. let people know where they can see the facts. huggggz, Suzanne

And alot of people want murderers executed. I believe in the "eye for an eye" approach. And, it turns my stomach when I hear a person on death row speak out about how the death penalty is wrong and how it is murder. I believe they say things like that because they are now the deer in the headlights and they are scared and do not like that feeling. They can dish out the punishment, but they can't take it.

Public oppinion polls supporting the pro or anti veiws are generally worthless and can not be counted on as a true source to what the real mood of a population is
polls are generally collected from a small cross section of the population only a general election truly tells you which way the citizens are leaning towards
and in most cases polls tend to reflect the veiws of the person/s conducting the poll

When I presented the data, it was dismissed as biased information. If you did not come across data in support of the death penalty--you did not look hard enough. If there was no data or statistics in support of it, this site would not be here. I am getting the feeling that you think pros are just a bunch of cold-hearted, vengence filled people that just like to see the person pay. Let me tell you, there is a lot of information out there in support of the death penalty. The question is, do you really want to find it?

If the Anti death penalty camp truly wants to do something about the DP they should focus in on the US States that currently have the dp And force the issue to a statewide election have it placed on the ballot this might very well be done by gathering a mass amount of signatures on a petition and presenting it to the state body of government

"Don't Mess with Texas", right? The is a "tough on crime" state. I'm assuming (there's that word again) TCADP and Texasmoratorium is working on something to that nature...but I'll check 'em to see. If anyone can do it, they can. Personally, I've been talking with my peers about the issue and getting it on their minds. Many weren't thinking about the DP until I brought it up. TCADP has meeting in several cities here. They are some hard workers here. I can't thank them enough for what they do for the men and women here.
