The concept that we can't kill someone every time we have a problem with them was figured out long ago. You would think so, wouldn't you? Do you support concealed carry laws? Can you kill someone who comes into your home without an invitation? Actually, the national homicide rate was at its lowest when the death penalty was reinstated. It has not gone that low since, and hadn't been that low before since the late 1600s. Currently, police throughout the country rank the death penalty dead last in its effectiveness for reducing crime.

So apparently you have changed your criterion. Your criteriion was that we had to be invaded, which was what I commented on. So what was your criterion or what are your criteria? Japan invaded the territory claimed by the U.S. We were not wrong to retaliate. Had it been possible to stop those planes before they reached their target, it would not have been wrong to shoot them down. But that's not what we did, is it? We invaded Haiti to impose a government that the Haitian people did not want. I know someone who was a medical student there at the time. He claims there was never any danger to students or anyone else. Matter of fact, the students were unhappy that their studies were interrupted. He still laughs at that silliness about "protecting American students."

Donnie said: Grenada was invades based on our long-established Monroe Doctrine and to protect American students living there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds like every country in the world better start being worried, or ban Americans from becoming students there.

The US pulled a Bush 2000 strategy in Vietnam in the 50s..sabotaging elections when it appeared that Ho Chi Minh (may his memory remain a beacon of hope for other victims of US aggression) would win, then decided to illegally invade...Cambodia never attacked us either, I believe. Personally, Donnie, I celebrated that day in 1975 when Saigon was liberated and renamed Ho Chi Minh city...
Speaking of Vietman..the name WILLIAM CALLEY and MY LAI ring a bell...can you say PRE-MEDITATED MURDER???..and Nixon more or less pardeoned him...
Grenada was Alzheimer Ron's idea of revenge for the Marines getting bombed in Lebanon.
Notice that both Bush's had a personal vendetta against Aristide? Also it was Bush 41 that illegally invaded and kidnapped Noriega from Panama...
How long until Aruba gets invaded?

Can't wait to see Hugo Chavez kick Bush's ass if Bush obeys his master Brother Pat Robertson... I'll be flying the Venezuelan flag in my front yard ;D

I have to continue to support the belief that the DP deters the cruel, heinous 'murders which in America are in most states occaisonally answered with the death penalty. Anyone who denies that the death penalty deters this type of murder is forced to concede that all murderers and potential murderers of this type-a minority of murderers and potential murderers-are like robots or demonic zombies, who unlike the rest of humanity will not alter their plans when they are revealed as life-threatening, nor be impressed our influenced in any way by the prospect of their own physical death. Note the enormous increase in serial killer murders in the 60s when death senences in America were reduced radically and the US in 1972 then followed Europe's example of abolishing the DP. I do concede that a minority of murderers, e.g. suicidal rage killers, eligible for the DP in America are not deterred by the DP and for this type of offender LWOP is apparently the greater punishment. Click the lower link below on my profile for the source of these statistics and article. [/quote] "serial murderer" stats? regardless of what kind of murderer stats, I bet if you ask some of the people who were adults in their right mind in the 70's, these same adults who are in their right minds today will tell you that they hear about murder more frequently today then they heard back in the 70's. I was a child in the 70's and my parents would let me out and about with the other neighborhood kids and not worry (remember, my dad was an over-protective father and prosecuting attorney at the time, therefore if anyone was to worry whether their kids should be out, he would have). Anyway, there is no way, I'd let my children out and about today with the clearly increased violence and most probable murder....as you see I'm skeptical about said results being accurate.....kinda like, you can't believe everything you read, even if it's "official". hugggz, Suzanne

Maybe Donnie and Judy should be introduced. It could be a match made in heaven. Think of it, John Wayne and his side kick.

Do you wish to issue i challenge to them? I can convey this challenge to them! Challenge them...it would be funny... I just disagree with you that the DP deters them.....I think the DP is what they deserve. Yes I am a retributionist pro Putting silly smiley faces after you make pathetic statements, just makes you look stupid, as is anybody who celebrates the killing of any person. Please grow up or go away, your inane stupidity is not welcome around here.

YOU do not determine peoples posts!!! You tell people they are not welcome around here?!?!?!? Do you speak for the whole board??? No, you just take it upon yourself to make judgements about people..... Speaking of inane stupidity.... Go look in the mirror......... Your posts are rude, arrogant, and you need to be called on them.............. ~rain (Edited to add my silly smilies....... !!!!!) I would have thought that even you would have the capacity to know that people who proclaim to be proud to celebrate the murder of anybody is not welcome here.
