This honestly sounds like a pro-dp position to me.....yes what Jeffery Dahmer did was unspeakable..and although to some he got what he deserved a prisoner murdering another prisoner is still murder. One the reasons I dont support the Death Penalty in most cases is because for many killers, death is just an escape. It also seems to make a matyr out of them as far as liberals are concerned. I personally think that in more ways than one, (so-called) Jailhouse Justice is FAR more fitting and appropriate than execution by that state. A really notable example of this was what happened to Jeffrey Dahmer. Had he been sentenced to death he'd prolly still be alive today writing his memoirs in Death Row. Instead, he was sentenced to life and was slain by another inmate-he died just as brutally and as mercilessly as he had killed ;D.If ONLY more predatory/thrill killers would suffer such a fate .

Well andie, there is the ancient saying that You live by the sword, you Die by the sword. Theres always the hope that pyschotic, predatory killers will kill off each other. For those who think that he didnt deserve to die like that I have this question: Why did Dahmer deserve better than his victims? And No, I am NOT from Texas but I Do believe that showing mercy to the merciless is wrong and only emboldens such people.

Because Dahmer had a sickness. Would you have liked to have eaten him too? We as a society should be above that raunchy, revengeful behavior. Like Andie pointed out, taking a life regardless of the circumstance is murder. Now, the prisoners who have high profile cases and receive a life sentence, are usually kept isolated and away from the general prison population, after what happened to Dahmer. Whoever killed him was just as discusting as he was.

Oh really? Sounds like you honestly feel sorry for that guy(to some extent). Its assinine to compare Dahmers case to Abu Ghraib! The prisoners at Abu Ghraib did not get a fair trial because they were regarded as POWs and "terrorists" so there was no basis for them being guilty of anything than fighting for "the enemy". Guys like Dahmer DID recieve a fair trial and it was Not the guards who killed him! Where did you get that idea? Dahmer and another prisoner were left with a third prisoner who was a known danger to everyone else. That person was left with a weapon and a good deal of time to use it. What the guard did in this case was never done before or since. On his jury, I would convict him.
