Apparently the Polunsky Mail Room is violating the rights of the inmates. Mail is taking approximately 10 or more days to reach them once it's arrived at the mail room. Some pieces of mail are being thrown away and burned at random, because it's considered "junk mail"...all this is considered a Federal Violation.
The boys, according to their rights, are supposed to have "all incoming and outgoing mail delivered to the US Postal Service, or the offender, within 24 hours (excluding Saturday's, Sunday's, and holidays).
Anyway, I've had several complaints about mail not being received, pictures missing when it IS received, and mail being held for 10+ days by the mail room before being delivered to the inmates. I have also started paying extra attention to the postmarks on the letters I'm receiving. Some pieces are being held for over a week before being sent out from Texas.
The following information is where we can write/fax/call to file a complaint about the mail room violations. Please consider writing and helping these boys out! Maybe if enough of us band together, we can get some results ;D
Voice all complaints on mail violations to:
Office of Ombudsman P.O. Box 99, Huntsville, TX 77342
Phone: 936-437-6791 Fax: 936-437-6668

Weird, i havent had any problems at all. The one problem i had was when Richard's letter was returned to me after his execution saying "inmate not here" yet i mailed it over a week in advance.
As far as letters coming to me, i got one post dated from Robert Shields for 8/16 and he dated the letter 8/15 so i dont know. I seem to have a pretty decent turn around time. Though i do know for a fact the letters from them come to me faster than the ones i send them.
