he TDCJ Ombudsman Offices have received several letters/e-mails requesting that a list of "rejected books" be placed on the TDCJ website, so families and friends can check it before they have books mailed to offenders. It has been determined that this would not be feasible, since the list is extensive, and since all offender families do not have access to computers.
Anyone wanting to have books mailed to an offender may certainly verify that the book is approved prior to sending it, by one of the following methods: The offender can submit an I-60 to the unit mailroom, asking if the book is approved.
The family member can call the unit mailroom directly to see if the book is approved.
The family member can contact the Mail System Coordinator's Panel (MSCP) in Huntsville to see if the book is approved. The contact information for MSCP is:
