Witness in the Scott Peterson case passes away.
Written by: Lynda Dale MacLean
Vivian Mitchell, who was a defense witness for Scott Peterson, passed away early Wednesday morning due to natural causes, as told to reporters by Vivian's Husband, Bill.
Vivian Mitchell, 78, told authorities that she saw Laci Peterson walking her dog on the morning of December 24, 2002 around 10:15 and appeared to be in good health.
Mitchell, along with two others, told reporters that they saw Laci alive on December 24th.
Authorities have been questioning this, since it was said that Laci and her unborn son were killed either on the night of December 23rd or very early on December 24th.
Scott Peterson, who has maintained his innocence, will be heading to trial in Redwood City, CA later this month. If found guilty, Peterson could face the death penalty.
The tragedy of this story will continue on as it touches all our lives in many different ways. Vivian Mitchell, a lady that only family, friends, and neighbors in her hometown of Modesto, CA knew, has now brought a sense of loss to us as well because of the cruel and horrific nature of this crime on Laci and her baby.
I hope peace will soon be felt and the truth shown.
Talk to other readers about this story.

Why is this posted? Geragos videotaped her statement, as she was quite elderly and not in good health. Geragos made no attempt to have the videotape admitted into evidence, so her statement as to having seen Laci must not have been plausible, even to him. The prosecution, however, did list Mrs. Mitchell's husband. www.modbee.com/local/story/8432339p-9266464c.htmlHe was not called either. There was no need. Her statement was easily debunked by details that she herself provided. She was, I'm sure, a very nice lady trying to help find Laci. By posting this, are you insinuating that the Hawaiians/burglars/satanists/neighbor had Mrs. Mitchell "offed"?

They also showed this witness several pictures of different woman, including Laci, and she was unable to pick Laci out of the several attempts she tried.

As for the other witnesses who saw Laci: Eyewitness testimony subject to recall almost two years later is questionable at best. They may know what they saw and may believe what they saw but on cross examination, faulty memories are usually suggested and witnesses will be subject to being discredited. By bringing their testimony in through police reports testified to by actual Law Enforcement right after they reported their sightings made the witnesses more credible in that respect.

More misinformation from "shadez" Yea keep believing in your own dillusions.. hope it helps ya sleep better. shadez, do you have to be so negative sounding to the members here? just because others may not agree with your view doesn't mean you have to come across as rude and unfriendly. Please, take a chill pill! We can all discuss things without being rude. Miles

Thank you Miles....I'm getting tired of it, but I'm going to leave the consequences up to his supporters.
Of course if the it creates more drama.....well, we do what we have to in order to keep it out of here.
