Like the subject says I am wondering how can I be an active supporter in Anti-DP?? Living in New Zealand I am finding it really difficult to tap into organisations that are fully focused on abolishing the DP. I guess what I am really after is like minded people that I can correspond with on the internet and all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. - Ben.

Ben when we had this question in 98 we looked around for groups in Canada fighting... there was Amnesty in a quiet letter writing way; but we wanted to get even more active on a personal level.... there was no such group in Canada.... so we started one ! We've made a bit of a differnce, helped some people; won a major court case giving prisoners the write to have their cases on the internet and changed a few minds... all from our house in Canada!
Start a group in NZ!!! I promise others will join! We get contacted by people looking for likeminded people from that part of the world all the time!

I have been a member for a little less than a week now and have one major complaint---NO ONE EVER POSTS A MESSAGE! I quit one site for that and will quit this one if things don't improve. I don't want to have to start responding to my own messages again.
I propose a new rule--no message posted in any 2 week span and you are off.

Trouble is, sometimes we have to take some time off. Dealing with the death penalty can be very emotional and wear a person down. Another thing is the death penalty is a touchy subject and many people don't speak up at forums about it because if the bashing......and drama, which this board has a history of. But things are changing.....trouble is being weaned out. If you notice in the links thread, I posted some links to other anti-death penalty board.

I saw yours, I am doing the same a little, but don't get much reaction. Maybe my expectations are not realistic. I check the site everyday which is probably too much. If I lose interest, OK then I will. don
