Just to show photographic evidence of a domestic dog being used to test the effectiveness of the execution chamber. He is about to be electrocuted. Another victim of electrocution was a circus elephant called Topsy. www.railwaybridge.co.uk/topsy.html In 'Fourteen Days in May' you see a live rabbit being gassed to death. You also see the warden telling the execution team to clear out the gas chamber every day to test it again. And you see a second rabbit being brought in for testing. In order to ensure the gas is effective, this is the only way they can test it.

Ok, that is very disturbing. I don't know what year that photo was from, but that sickens me. Breaks my heart. Jesus, I am even tearing-up at the sight of that.

Actually, the history of the electric chair includes numerous animal "executions." In order to convince people that electrocution was a humane method of death, numerous dogs, cats, domestic and exotic animals were electrocuted from town to town.
Fortunately, our society does not look at this sick behavior as okay. But, less than a hundred years ago, an electrocution would have brought out an audience who would have looked at the scene with curiousity rather than horror.

I urge you not to delete this thread. People need to see, especially Pros what damage their beloved death penalty causes. If anything perhaps this can be a flaw in their cause, especially if they are animals lovers. Do you think this dog didn't know to be terrified? His ears are back, his eyes are wide, his tail is between his legs, he's stiff and probably shaking. And his death will be long and painful, especially as he'll probably go on fire as they haven't bothered to shave him. Now think of what humans go through when they are faced with this.
I'm sorry that the picture caused people pain. It breaks my heart too. I have MANY more photos of animals executions as I'm an activist against animal exploitation. I posted it because it angered me that people didn't believe that animals were used for testing. I notice those people who were so eagar to challenge me on this aren't responding to this thread. (Capitalistswine?) Of course this photo breaks peoples hearts. And Pro death penalty activists promote this! They need to see this. Our words mean nothing to them. So don't delete this thread. Let it have its impact on those who promote it.

Mo-DAWG I agree. I would fry each and every person who was involved in electrocuting that dog. I would not even give them a moist head sponge. I would cook them very slowly and make sure that they felt the electricity sear through their bodies. I also would not give them a hood. That way I could see their faces contort upon being shocked. I know that sounds nasty, but looking at the pic of the dog about to die really upsets me. It makes me cry.
