I don't like police, who I refer to as The Jackboot Thug Stormtroopers of the State, but in their defense, a cop, just like a felon, just like an "ordinary" person has an inherent right to protect themselves by any and all means against an aggressor. Unfortunately, more times than not, that cop is the aggressor. i definitely agree with you here cap and i agree with the last sentence as well ... what should a person think about a pig that threatens to shoot your dog if you dont give him the information he wants you to give him ... what should a person think about a pig that beats a pregnant woman to get information ... what should a person think about pigs who harrass you every day and come to your door just because they think you belong to a certain group of people but dont have any evidence for their assumption ... ...yes unfortunately more time than not that cop is the aggressor ... you know i dont hate "jackboot thugs" ... i just want them to stay away from me just as i stay awy from them ... i dont need them and never will...i can take careof my sh*t on my own and i want them not to bother me with their sh*t ... quite easy huh? It's a good philosophy, leave me be and I'll leave you be, unfortunately, there is always a select group of people who want to enforce their beliefs upon you through threat of force.

The majority of the Pigs spend the majority of their time sitting on their ass eating Donuts and drinking Coffee. Thus the saying Bad Cop No Donut! When the baby pigs are born they look and act just like all the other non piggy babies. They grow up and decide on which profession they want as a career. Just as the non piggy babies have done. The big difference is, now all the non piggy babies are expected to bow down to the Pigs. Why??? Because they are "protecting"their fellow citizens? That is pure crap! A Lawyer is protecting, a Plumber is serving, What would our lives be without Electricians? Pretty darn dark if ya ask me! I have no respect for Pigs! They are mean, cruel people that can not work without having the big gun and tin badge to back them up!People that become cops are control freaks! This is one of the best, most honest posts I've read on this board......I applaud you Kathy.......I wish I'd had the bottle to come right out and say this.....because it is how I view the police too. Although I always try to see both sides of an argument and would say there are exceptions to every rule ...... I still believe decent cops are in a very small minority and are usually ousted out of the profession before long....... Control freaks about sums it up...........billy no mates who had no friends at school

I totally agree. Well said. A police officer VOLUNTARILY goes to work, and risks his/her life just as any other person does. They are no more special. I also think that murdering a 60 year old man is just as tragic as murdering a 6 year old child, and the murderers should be given EQUAL punishment. No life is more special than any other.

I do think killing a cop is EXTREMELY different and the punishment should be higher than the average person (of course no death penalty).
Cops risk their lives everyday for us, and when I say every day, I mean everyday. Everytime they put on their uniform, they are a target for some psycho cop killer who may want to kill a cop for just being a cop.
I can't put into words how much I appreciate the fact that we have cops here in the US to protect us.
Yes, there are those with this "cop attitude" who abuse their uniform. Those few give cops a bad name.
I've been raised around cops, lawyers, doctors, all professions. They are all people.
What are we fighting for? Peoples lives, right?
I see in the paper every so often when various cops get arrested themselve for breaking the law....in fact one recently in my imediate area.....goes to show you how imperfect we all are and how they are NOT above the law.
However, cops are risking their lives to keep peace in our society as the best they are able. They don't get paid near enough for the risk they take. And the life insurance their family recieves after they are killed in the line of duty, if any, isn't enough to pay for they loved one they lost.
Thank God for cops, otherwise, the US would be "new orleans".

My grandmother had to babysit for a quarter to put in the jar to help my great-grandmother make sure my aunts/uncles could eat.
His murder put a damper on their finances.
