In the meantime, other Juveniles were executed. Sad. hugggz, Suzanne So true, my thoughts went to Napolean Beasley. This must be bitter sweet for his parents. I know they are happy, but if only this had been done a few years earlier this young man would still be alive.

So would a few others, and if they had not done what they did...SIGH... Hindsight is always 20/20...

I did a lot of research into it... It was a tangled mess for sure...But he did kill the man for a stupid car...A car that he could have owned if he would have decided to go into the Marines like he planned...he was a smart young man and he really could have gone places instead of a hole in the ground...And that is the tragedy of the entire thing...

I have looked up what I could find on-line about his case...I also read the appeal and would agree with the judge at trial and at appeal...That his actions deserve this sentence. However, I would not mind having the legislature add a life with parole that the prosecutor could use if he wanted... however, with the hiding of the body of the victim, and the weapons and the bloody clothing, I would argue that he knew what he was doing and that it was wrong... Sorry, but I believe that he is guilty... And very lucky... There are many facts about Josh's case that have yet to be brought to the public's attention. I'm glad (and impressed) that you took the time to research his case, but you are missing many important pieces to this puzzle. Have you visited Josh's website to read the various articles and journal entries there? As much as there is on the website, it has only just begun touching the surface and will continue to evolve and develop in the coming weeks and months. Josh was diagnosed as having ADD and bilateral frontal lobe lesions after his arrest; possibly contributing factors in what happened. But there are other aspects to this case which warrant further investigation (thank you, Tina!), such as why the detectives lied about evidence, and the fact that uniformed officers as well as detectives were in Josh's room the night before Maddie's body was discovered. I have learned to reserve judgment on others' cases as a result of Josh's arrest and conviction. NOBODY really knows without a doubt whether OJ killed Nicole. We may have strong feelings one way or the other, but we weren't THERE at the time. Do I KNOW that Josh killed Maddie? No. I only know that her body was found under his waterbed. The detectives, and the public at large, were content with that and went no farther. She was found under Josh's bed, therefore, he was guilty before he even went to trial. For the detectives, it was a sigh of heavy relief that she'd been recovered and they declared it "case closed." As far as all of the "good" parents out there, just keep in mind a quote from CBS "48 Hours" producer (and father) Avi Cohen in regard to Josh's case, "there but for the grace of God go I". One never knows the hand one might be dealt, regardless of how "good" you think you are. Bad things DO happen to good people.

I took a look at both Mile's site and what Google had to offer...But his own parents discovered the girls body under his bed...I mean, there you go... However, please understand that I was not able to see the entire court proceedings and read that...Nor am I a lawyer. But based on what I have read, with an open mind, I would have voted to convict... I have been around a lot of people with ADD and other learning disabilities and they do not cause you to want to kill people...I had ADD. But I do think that he did it...

I might as well get this out in the open. I am Josh's mother, and it was I who discovered Maddie. I think that basically, you are trying to find the truth, and I am as well. Again, I tell you, that not every card was played at trial level. Politics, power, and the almighty dollar all played a part in what happened to Josh.

And this is what will happen when we get rid of the death penalty...Life without parole is too harsh... Sorry. I do think this guy is guilty but I am willing to look at the case file if it is posted online, along with the stuff from Rob's case...I will look at it with an open mind...I promise

Like I said, I will look at the materials if it is posted. I may not understand the lawyer stuff, but I will look at it and try to understand it...But from what I have seen, he is guilty. And I cannot imagine what you are going through, either...I can't...

I do think this guy is guilty but I am willing to look at the case file if it is posted online, along with the stuff from Rob's case...I will look at it with an open mind...I promise Josh has been incarcerated since he was 14 years old. He is approaching his 7th year in prison. When you are that young and have a LWOP sentence, it is a living death penalty. Mike, even if you were to look at the case file, you could not ever know the missing pieces that are so vital. I don't know that this is on-line anywhere, but it is public record information, and I would imagine it's been transferred to Duval County, FL from Polk County. I drove over three hours to Polk County to look at Josh's case. There were boxloads involved, so I really doubt it's on the 'net anywhere. Perhaps only selected pieces. Again, articles, even well written ones, taken out of context, do not give the reader the full story.
