What type of future could a 14 year old killer have? To be honest I would rather die than go to prison for the rest of my life (I think), and no way should this kid ever be released. Hey guess wot??? You don't KNOW him. You are basing EVERYTHING you know on his conviction. Let me tell ya, THAT boy did NOT murder MADDIE CLIFTON. You have NOT read ANYTHING I HAVE, yet you come to the same conclusion. HOW?? Without the full FACTS HOW can you? You don't, so why BOTHER??? Until you are in a position to judge, I'd personally suggest you hang fire for a while. Juries not out YET! you are right. I have not read anything about the case, and I am not on the jury. I therefore will not judge him until the jury comes back. I was only saying that if a 14-year old is found guilty of murder, he has no meaningful future and should be sent down. I did not mean to talk about Josh specifically.

am i the only one here that thinks KIDS shouldn't be tried as adults? No Miles, you're not the only one! I was sleeping! And I'm going back to bed in a bit. I've gotta work tonight. Anyway, no, Juvs shouldn't be tried as adults! They think they are invincible (spelling), they base their judges on the hormones or what they think is cool or if they're going to look cool to their friends, etc.....they aren't rational nor mature, I don't care how well their parents raise them if they are so lucky.

"this is the law" is the excuse we always get....then it's followed by "you're never going to get rid of thd death penalty" That's what that was about.

I have looked up what I could find on-line about his case...I also read the appeal and would agree with the judge at trial and at appeal...That his actions deserve this sentence. However, I would not mind having the legislature add a life with parole that the prosecutor could use if he wanted... however, with the hiding of the body of the victim, and the weapons and the bloody clothing, I would argue that he knew what he was doing and that it was wrong... Sorry, but I believe that he is guilty... And very lucky...

Hi. I write to Efrain Perez who was involved in the gang rape/murders of Elizabeth Pena and Jennifer Ertman. He told me a few weeks ago that he was given Life. But this was after 12 years on Death Row, and 2 months on Death Watch with an execution date. Tell me, why did it take them 12 years to realise that Efrain was "underage" when he was involved in the murders? . . . Why was he not given Life 12 years ago with respect to his age? Why only now? This testifies how unpredictable and plain messed up the justice system is! Gill

That is because they could go for a death sentence with someone over the age of 16... However, your friend did dodge a bullet, but ask him how working in the fields is during the summer... No matter how much I do not like it, this is now the law...But I will bet money that Mr. Perez likes it a whole lot less...
