Well, since no anti will pick up on it....why do they get their own keys to their cells??? And notice about the one inmate that purposely was incarcerated???

You have different levels of prison.. minimum, medium and maximum. In each prison you EARN the priviledge of what freedom you have. Do some research

Isnt that the whole idea....your freedom is taken away?? Antis claim they are mistreated or whatever and now they are able to walk around as if they own something and its ok??? These people are in prison...freedom is a thing of their past!

I would not know about that...I saw a program on A+E that discussed a prison called Oak Park Height...It was a Maximum Security prison, with everything a prison like that would have but it gave the inmates keys to cells, education, recreation, etc...The inmates mentioned that they loved it because they could come and go as they wanted and had chances to better themselves...Plus they said there was nothing going on as far as gangs, either...But the staff said they could make it back into a super-max prison in about 8 hours...

See! What purpose is there for going to jail when they get to live this way? They get all this for free, compliments of us. These people get the DP but spend the next 20+ years living like this and working the system for appeal after appeal after appeal?

The prison was the same one the hyperlink you posted referred to... It was a Super-max prison but it did not have a death row section... I do not mind spending some taxpayer money if it gives inmates a chance to become taxpayers after they are released...After all, would you rather have them working a job or committing more crimes...

I know of this show and if someone actually paid attention, these guys that are sent here are people that will be in prison for a LONG time. They have to EARN their right to be in this prison and if they make one mistake (and a mistake can be anything minor) you are back into a hard core max prison. These inmates have a right to earn their priviledges. Now, about death row inmates running around free??? Nope, MOST states they are locked down 24/7. Watch the program again and get your facts straight.

Again, like I said, I do not mind giving people chances to better themselves and to earn their way into a prison like the one from the A+E televison show... After all, they earn ther way into Ad-seg or the hole... Why not reward good behavior? It really would not cost that much...

I mean, isn't that how we keep people in the prisons (to include the guards) safe?

I agree with this post. Most people in prison are not there for murder remember Again, like I said, I do not mind giving people chances to better themselves and to earn their way into a prison like the one from the A+E televison show... As far as I'm aware, DR Prisoners are alone 23 hours a day. They are allowed one hour of recreation. My Pen Pal Jody uses his time out of his cell working. He has a State job as a Cleaner. I don't know of any DR areas where this is not the case. Gill
