All of your posts are malicious. Why? Some are unneccesarily personal as well, as in your remark that I have nothing better to do with my time than write to DR prisoners. Truth, you don't even know me. How can you make such a remark about a stranger?
"No. I had made a comment in a previous post about why Gill wrote to inmates. I had said that she did it because she basically had nothing else to do."
There is no forgiveness on your part. No understanding as to why antis might want to reach out to a person condemned to die.
"Go ahead and keep on writing. I don't care. I just don't understand how some antis defend the inmates on issues where there is no possible defense." "It is about punishing the cancers of society."
There is only hatred and a sense of delight in what must be horrific for another human being, no matter what they have done.
"Two days and the world is minus one sick, twisted murderer."
And when I merely wanted to share a poem Jody wrote for me with you all, your response was cold when you claimed it "didn't do anything to you." But, it was also cruel. Jody is a person I deeply care about, yet you took delight in claiming that . . .
"Killing Jody will put an end to the danger that he poses to people."
I could go on and on, but, I do have a life, even if you think I don't. My question to you is simply, what are you doing on this site? When all you mean to do is upset antis, and make personal remarks when there is no cause to? What have I REALLY done to upset you? Support Jody? Hardly likely. Why are you so full of hatred? Gill

I agree with you 100% gill. I can't stand it when people get on this website to hurt others. If you don't like what's being said on here, then stay off!

they are so upset about "victims" being hurt..... yet they have no problem trying to take people down and do their own damage and hurt to people they don't even know. It's malicious and intentional. And they call the guys on death row monsters? ??

I think Truth is like me...He says what he says and means it...He does not care where the chips fall or how. If you are going to back people that are on death row than you need better arguements than the guy is innocent, he told me, or that his writing is so beautiful. You need to find facts and rational thought. Ohterwise, it is all emotional, just as the other side uses. Except that they use the public record as well.

I find it amazing that you think we are dumb enough to just believe anything anyone says. Now, I can only speak for myself (but I have proof of others too) that we have more knowledge of cases than just that "they said so". Also, not everyone is innocent. That is something that pro's are always saying we say. We know they all arn't innocent. The thing is, we look at everything about this person... not just the crime. We see the WHOLE person, the WHOLE, situation and then make a decision about this person. I know many guys on death row that are guilty. I still think that as a human being and a person, they are worth something because I got to know them, the situation and their life.

Gill: I know the personal attacks hurt but you need to remember that the rest of us are here to support you and we know that it isn't that you don't have anything else to do.
I just think that it is awful for people to come here and hurt us just because the people that we care about might or might not have done something. We know these people. I am sure that not all of the pro's know all of the victims (I know some do and I am not talking about those people). It is just wrong to attack people who have done nothing wrong and all of us here have done nothing wrong. You might not agree with what we do and you might never do it yourself and that is ok, but it is not wrong.

You think Truth is like you, you do not care . . . Is this something you are proud of? I agree with Joy. Neither of my 2 penpals are innocent of the crimes against them. When on the Pro Board, people accuse me of being sick, twisted, and laughed at me being non American, calling all non American people a "sick minority". I've never been more proud to be Irish, and I would be ashamed to be American today. This was my response. Maybe it'll verify a few things. Or maybe it'll wash. Either way, have the sense to read. "You call me provocative, twisted, sick, etc. Then condemn me for returning the comments. What have I really done to offend you? You're promoting the death of MORE people, people I have come to respect. It is not my place to forgive offenders for what they have done. But I can and have forgiven certain ones on my part. I'm Catholic, and it's my belief to forgive. It's what we were taught to do. I'm trying to reach out to people in terrible predicaments. I'm not trying to excuse them for the shocking crimes they have committed. But, I view my pen pals as two men in horrific situations, both truly sorry for their actions in the past. But killing them won't undo the wrong which has been done. Right now, I'm thinking of my pen pals families, and what they must be going through. You can't accuse me of ignoring the dilemma of the victim's family, when, by promoting execution you are ignoring the dilemma of the offender's family. I refuse to promote more death and mourning. I urge you to move on, and not be so full of hatred and bitterness. Hatred and bitterness have never gotten any of us anywhere. Murderers may have deeply caused pain and loss, but it is my opinion that although they deserve punishment, they also need our help. Requesting a pen pal is a cry for help. I'm merely responding. If you think that makes me sick, twisted, then good luck to you. I pity you. I'm trying to make a difference to a messed up system that doesn't work. These people need help, not to be strapped to an electric chair; don't you see that that merely makes for a bloody vicious circle? These are my views, and calling me sick is not going to change them. Those who are going to respond to this with violent and vicious remarks need not waste their time. They'll only disgust me, not alter my beliefs. Gill."

Gill, there are people who have no other manner in which to validate themselves, other than directing malice and insults at others of differing opinions.
It is insulting to suggest that those of us who write to prisoners on DR believe it is simply some kind of hobby. It can often be a tragic journey that we choose to take with another human being. Gill, don't let any of this discourage or dishearten you. The world is filled with individuals who are unable to forgive, who believe in retribution. It used to be hurtful to me. Now, I no longer sweat the small stuff but, rather, continue to work at a goal in which I believe.
Insofar as 'antis' defending inmates, well, none of us believes that every single individual on DR is innocent. That's rather insulting to our intelligence. For every effect there is a cause. Innocence or guilt, for those of us who do not believe in the DP, isn't really an issue.
People who are full of hatred suffer from self-hatred. How sad, that compassion is lacking in them.
Perhaps Truth would be able to defend the position taken with logic and intelligence, rather than attack those who don't agree with him. That would at least add credibility to nonsensical verbal attacks.

when someone has to resort to insults and being cruel it means they have lost the debate because they have lost control of themselves.
NO one will listen seriously to anyone ranting like that.
ANd while disagreeing with someones opinion there really is no need for personal attacks.
Seperate the person from the opinon and maybe people will get on a little better:)

If someone wishs to make childish insults towards people on this board just rise above it. Stand tall dont let it get you down. Live to fight another day, another fight. Show them there insults dont get to you in any form.
In the world of the death penalty you will be hard pressed for people to agree on all the ins and outs of it. And there shall never be a time that will happen either.
I respect people who use there time to write/visit death row inmates. Why should there be any need for insults for doing so. They write to someone knowing that one day maybe tomorrow, next week, next month, next year that persons life will be taken from them by the state that holds them. Its not a easy thing to pick up a pen and write to someone who's life will be taken away on a said date.

Gill Here is the deal. I understand your desire to make a difference. I mean, we all want to do something positive for the world. You think the death penalty is wrong and you want to abolish it. That's fine. But, you lose credibility when you say things like self-defense when all available evidence is to the contrary. I know you have apologized for calling murder a "silly mistake", but, that is another statement that shows very little regard for the victim. Can you kind of understand now?
