Now before I get accused of stealing the idea from the prodp board, I did....they were asking the opposite question..."Topic: How many pro's have 'lost' people' and someone posted that we need to be asked that question.
Well, now that I have, I'll be the first to answer.
My dear friend, a man I loved was murdered in Denison Texas in May, 1991.
A friend I went to high school with and we partied some after high school was murdered in Dallas about 1988 or 1989.
Another friend I went to high school with and I dated his cousin long after high school was murdered around 1990 in Denison, TX.
Of course all of y'all know my great-granddad was murdered in the line of duty.

A friend of Dave and mine....murdered in the mid nineties; stabbed countless times and his dead body left in an alley for three or four days; before the killers borrowed a vehicle; came back for the body; wrapped him in a tarp and left him in a garbage dumpster behind a strip mall in an industrial area; to be found the next morning by store employees.
He was a serious political activist at one time before slipping down into a path of serious drugs and getting messed up. He fought police abuses; was against the Death Penalty and other government abuses; and if he was alive you'd all know him cause he'd be one of the loudest voices against the DP on this board.
Because he'd fallen into drugs and less than socially acceptable behavior; the police didn't think it was much of a loss; and the killers (there were 2) got less than 10 years each; did even less than that and have been our for years now.
They shoulda got LWOP for SURE!

i posted this in the other thread, but i might as well put it here too:
yes, i have experienced someone in my life being murdered. sad part is, i know who did it and he is free....the only evidence is circumstancial..michigan isn't like texas, we don't just throw people away on circumstancial (i am sure we HAVE) but for the most part, the cops in this case could do nothing....i even had contacted the violent crimes unit and mentioned i felt i knew who had killed my friend (and several others) they confirmed that he was a key suspect, however, no real evidence, just speculation and the fact that they "didnt like his answers when questioned".
i also was assaulted once....and i still oppose the death penalty 100%

A little girl my sister went to school with was raped and murdered back in the early 70's (1st of 2 rape/murders by this man). Being that there was no death penalty for that short time, he is eligible to be out of prison shortly. I'm not exactly sure, because life sentences changed since. Dad was the proscecuting attorney, therefore, I know he's been up for parole back in the late 80's/early 90's.
