www.willsworld.com/william.htmThe William Jenkins Memorial Website, With Links and Resources for the Bereaved William Benjamin Jenkins Sept. 16, 1980 - Aug. 12, 1997 William Jenkins was 16 years old when he was murdered during the course of a robbery at his place of employment on August 12, 1997, a victim of irresponsible and criminal use of an illegally obtained handgun. He was on his second day of work at his first "real" job. William was a friend to everyone, and loved by many. As a father, I can truly say thatn he had the makings of a brilliant artist, was an accomplished musician, was profoundly kind and deeply spiritual, and he was not only my beloved son, but he was my best friend. He will be truly missed.

he Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women monitors information about women and children murdered in our state to educate the public about the lethality of domestic violence and child abuse. We pledge to remember the women, children, and family members and/or friends who die each year from domestic violence and the woman and children who die while being used in prostitution and sex trafficking- systems of violence against women and children. Women and children used in prostitution and sex trafficking are victims of domestic violence and child abuse in need of protection from abuse. We challenge communities to respond to battered women and their children by providing safe shelter and advocacy services, prevention education for all elementary and secondary students, laws to protect women and children, effective enforcement of those laws and aggressive prosecution of all domestic assault crimes and all prostitution crimes targeting perpetrators, pimps, and "johns". Included in these reports are the names of the women and children who have died from woman abuse and child abuse in Minnesota in that year. We also remember the women and children who were murdered by friends, acquaintances, strangers, and unknown perpetrators, as well as family and friends murdered in domestic violence-related situations.
