Hi everyone,
My name is Jen. I'm a 29 (soon to be 30) mom of 2 adorable girls. I have an associates in Criminal Justice and have conflicted views on the death penalty. I honestly came to this site because I was researching the Scott Peterson case and it was listed on his site along with many other anti-dp sites. I have always wondered how they convicted him and wanted to know the evidence they had to do so. I've mostly checked out his place on this site, but look forward to looking through all that's on here when I have time here and there.
I'm from RI, so the Scott Hornoff case lingers in my mind. He was also convicted with only circumstantial evidence and was later exhonerated after another man confessed.
I wrote a paper in favor of Death Penalty Moratorium for school and my interest began. The statistics are astounding. It's really a shame. Now, I'm not saying I'm against the death penalty, in certain cases I believe it's warranted. However, I don't think anyone should be put to death unless it is proven not only "beyond" a reasonable doubt, but proven 100% with no doubt whatsoever.
I also think that killers like Ted Bundy had something to contribute to the world of profiling and forensic sciences in regards to why they are the way they are. I enjoy the criminology as well as the criminilistics. The why's as well as the what's.
I really want to participate in your discussions when I have something to say. I realize this is an anti death penalty site, I'm not here to disagree with anyone's opinions where that's concerned. I totally respect and understand that position and may have it myself one day. So thank you for having me and I look forward to sharing with you. I look forward to reading this site's material and learning about all the different things it offers and the facts of these people's crimes and convictions.
