hi i'm here from the UK, as of yet i do not write to any person on death row, but would like to in the near future.
I am against the death penalty and have been for a long time, perhaps i am naive but i did not realize that there was so many people on death row i am glad we don't have it here the UK.
I will continue my search for a pen pal.
thank you polly

Hi Polly! Welcome! glad you have joined us! In 1998; when we first got involved in this issue; we were also surprised there were so many on DR. The image that we had in our head was that there would be maybe a few dozen there; all serial killers! We were so shocked to find the truth - that there are almost 4000 in the US alone and that most of them are simply robberies etc....no different than those you'd find in general population and often not as bad (ie lots more serial killers are doing life than death!) thats part of why we started CCADP and this website; we figured if more people knew the truth about it; more people would be disturbed and feel compelled to fight against it!
thanks again for joining us! and for your interest in bringing a little brightness into the life of someone sentenced to death... tracy and dave CCADP

Hi Polly Iam Natasha Iam in Australia
I 2 didnt know that there were so many ppl on death row, living in a country where t he death penalty was abolished, has blinded me to the fact, that men and women are getting murderd in the name of justice, all over the world.....
I really believe its a shame that so many people are blinded, or maybe just ignore the fact that this is going on.... Maybe its time to remove the blinds covering many people's eyes, and give the world a wake up call... What do you think? any ideas? The only time anything about the death penalty is on the news, or paper, is when a aussie is facing the death penalty in Bali, for drugs..

hey Polly Welcome! writing to someone on death row is an experience that is hard to explain and something you will never forget, nor regret doing. It's not a decision to take lighty or walk into. You have a great group of people here that can guide you and help you out.
Like I said, you will never regret it and will find some awesome people on death row.
Hugs

WELCOME, Polly! I'm glad to hear that somebody in a horrible situation will be hearing from you! I'm sure you too understand that getting to know a person who is sentenced to death is not the easiest thing you ever do, but I can promise you that you have place to go to for support and for advice! Really nice to see you here, Polly! ;D Love, --Turid
