Hello all!
First off: Thank you, Tracy & Dave for having set up this message board!! I'm looking forward to discuss and get to know more people here!
But - let me first write a couple of words about myself. My name is Turid Sandberg Ihle. I'm a 42 years old woman. I live in Bærum, which is a suburb to Oslo, Norway. I'm married and I have two daughters who have both moved from home.
I've been involved with the anti-death penalty work since 1997, and I've been to see friends both in Texas and Florida over the years. At times, it feels like nothing ever helps, and that no one is ever willing to listen, which explains my periods of absence from the movement.
I guess we all have our spells in that department....
As of right now, I'm in the process of trying to collect as much information as I can get regarding the death penalty on a site I'll call: www.justicefornone.org
As of right now, I don't know what will come out of it, but I will try to focus as much as I can on all the former death row inmates who were exconerated in order to say something about the rotten system and how easy it is to suddenly find oneself in a situation which is stuck.
We know it has happened, and we know it will happen as long as there is a death penalty. I'm happy to see the activitives coming from all over the world, and with time, things may change. At least: That is my hope.
If there still are questions you'd like to ask me, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm not so sure as to what exactly you'd like to know, but I will try to answer any / if any / questions you might have.
Thanks for this forum, Tracy & Dave!
Love,
Turid
