Prosecutors Seek Death Penalty for Stabbing Suspect
In Alexandria, federal prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty for a man accused in the 1993 stabbing death of a Fairfax County woman.
Prosecutors say Thomas Hager has killed 5 other people and ordered the death of a seventh person since 1992.
2 other men, Lonnie Barnett Junior and Arlington Johnson Junior, are serving life sentences after pleading guilty in the attack on 19-year-old Barbara White, a single mother who lived in the Mount Vernon area. Those men admitted stabbing White repeatedly in her bathtub, while White's 13-month-old daughter was elsewhere in the apartment with a fourth suspect.
The men say they were said they were working for Hager, a crack cocaine dealer, who also stabbed White repeatedly.
