We, the Undersigned, endorse the following petition:
Help Us Prove Eric Cathey's Innocence
Target: Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, Senate
Sponsor: Bonnie Caraway, Coalition For Truth and Justice
Governor we the below signed beg you to bring about an extensive investigation for Eric Cathey on death row. This man is innocent. and a good investigation can prove this..
No matter what Mr. Cathey has asked his lawyer to file. the lawyer has an excuse.. He either doesn't know how to or says it is just a waste of time. there are some facts about this case that would make anyone stand up and take notice.
1.. the Chicano Task Force in Houston received a letter written in Spanish from the victims live in boyfriend telling them that the murderer was someone else. he gave the name.
2.. another inmate wanted to make a deal for lesser time and called the police and told them he could give them info about this murder and he gave them the same name..
3. Just a block from where the body was found a burned out car was found with items belonging to this same man..
4. Forensics tested a gun that in all actuality was not the gun. and this is Houston Forensics we are talking about. Also in Mr. Cathey's writs it says that it was found in his possession. this is simple not true it was found in someone elses possession .. we would like that same gun retested...
Governor .. Mr. Cathey has run out of appeals.. As far as I know there has never been an extensive investigation done on this case. I feel and many of us feel that it would be important to do so.
The fact is .. Mr. Eric Cathey is not guilty of doing this crime and I think that many of the people involved in getting him wrongfully convicted.. know this. and the fact that this case is out of Harris County should be sufficient enough reason to investigate further.. Before this state kills another innocent man.
