If you could be 100% certain that only people guilty of cold-blooded murder would get the death penalty, but you, an innocent, had to be executed first..... would you do it?
Actually, let's make that two people.... you and your child would both have to die..... but hey, after that, the system would be perfect.
Are you ready?

wow! good question! To be honest, no, I would not. I can appreciate the difficulty posed by the question this thread is in responce to. I could never knowingly allow an innocent to be executed, even a complete stranger more or less myself or my child (for the record I do not have kids). It is just that when I was an anti, some executions bothered me more than others. I would have prefered to stop all executions, but I was not all that bothered by some state killings. esspecially child killers and people like Dennis Bagwell. You make a good point in your post Maggie!!
Might I add that the possibility of actually executing an innocent in America is neglagible. If there were significant data indicating inncoent people are being put to death, I would support a moratorium on the DP. However, as it stands, i think we have adequate safeguards to ensure it is only the guilty who face the ultimate punishment.

Thank you for understanding my post- and why I posted it.
My point is nobody has the right to play God and decide who lives, and who dies.
We have the right to keep ourselves safe...... and that's it.
