I see that a few people write "to make a difference." Does anyone ever write to the survivors of the killer's victim(s)? I would be evry interested to hear. I keep in touch with the family of the man my friend was falsely accused of killing. However as a general rule it is not practicle to keep in touch with both sides.

I am a wife, mother, nurse, resident of Ohio, USA...... and glad to be here ;D Where in Ohio? I'm in Columbus and I just started again writing to Michael Taylor who is on DR in Holmon Correctional Facility. He was sent there in 1993 and he says he only has 6 to 8 yrs left if his appeals run out

I have never written to someone on death row mainly because I have no idea what I would write or talk about with them. What do you write to a stranger? You hear so many stories about other inmates selling their letters to different people and I'd hate to be duped into that.I do think it's amazing what you guys are doing though and I commend you for it.Also being in Australia seems so far away

Who on earth would buy them??? And who are the inmates selling the letters to?

After having looked at this man’s web page I find that he is not only a racist pig, he is obviously Pro DP. As for inmates selling their pen pals letters that’s pretty much hog wash. You are more apt to find that a pen pal will be the one to try and sell letters. There have already been such cases on eBay. It is just another example of someone trying to make a buck from someone else’s pain. You would be amazed at how quickly this stranger becomes your friend. It’s an experience that I would not have missed for anything in the world. The people that you write two are not out to impress you all they want, all they really need is just someone to talk to. If my pen pal were to sell my letters the buyer would soon decide he got took! LOL

Can I vomit now or do I have to wait??? I don't care if someone is pro or anti, that is just WRONG ON ALL LEVELS!! Nobody should make an MP3 like that. Death is never anything to joke about, by either side

Hi!
I just joined the forum. I am an attorney who has been writing a DR inmate for the past year +. The more I have been trying cases, the more I am convinced that the jury system cannot fairly try cases where the consequences are as severe as a death penalty case.
The DP should be abolished if for no other reason than that the system should continually scrutinize cases and release innocent people. While most people in prison are guilty of the crimes they commit, some are not. Moreover, of those who are guilty, they may only be "technically guilty" -- for example where someone is on DR under the "law of parties" statute where that person never actually killed anyone.
