I like her.
Obama scares the crap out of me. Plus he makes me feel guilty about being successful, and I will owe about $1,500 a month more in income taxes, per month, if he gets elected and his plan is enacted.
I have no idea if she is pro or anti. I know she is pro-life when it comes to abortion.

I have no idea if she is pro or anti. I know she is pro-life when it comes to abortion. If you are making so much money that you will have to pay more taxes under Obama you can easily afford it. Most people who don't make so much money will pay much more in taxes when McCain taxes their health care benefits. And yes, she believes in absolutely no choice at all for women, even in cases of rape or incest, unless they are rich.

The fact that I can "afford" it is not relevant. What is relevant to me is that more of the income I earn from my hard work will be given to someone who does not work as hard as I do....and I will have less discretionary income going back into the economy.
I am not aware of anything out there stating Palin supports abortion for the rich. However, I would expect that you would support her views. Certainly it makes no sense to support the killing of babies while opposing the killing of murderers.
Although McCain's plan taxes healthcare benefits, it also provides a $5,000 per family tax credit against insurance costs.

Then you should never vote for any Republican ever. They spend money like drunks - Bush has blown $3 trillion on this pointless war, and there are now unfunded liabilities of $53 trillion (and growing) to pay for, while the US ships almost a trillion a year to oil producers. I am not aware of anything out there stating Palin supports abortion for the rich. However, I would expect that you would support her views. Certainly it makes no sense to support the killing of babies while opposing the killing of murderers. A fetus is not a baby. That s why there are different words. And I see nothing that Palin supports which will prevent a rich woman from flying to Switzerland for an abortion - only the poor will be denied this opportunity. Although McCain's plan taxes healthcare benefits, it also provides a $5,000 per family tax credit against insurance costs. Which only helps the rich, his sole concern except for being elected.

Taxing health benefits will be more costly to the rich because they are in a higher tax bracket.
A fetus is a baby which has yet top leave the mother's womb. As soon as the baby is able to survive apart from the umbilical cord, it leaves the mother's womb. Aborting ends the life of something with a heartbeat.
All of Congress spends money like drunks. 90% of the country and Congress supported going to war in Iraq. Now that it has not gone as planned, people forget that and just blame Bush.

Certainly it makes no sense to support the killing of babies while opposing the killing of murderers. Your right, it doesn't. Which is why I'm against both abortion and the death penalty. And your right- a fetus is exactly a baby! One that is unborn, but is living and growing every day inside the mother's womb. It's not a nothing, it's a life. I've heard that if McCain is elected, healthcare coverage will become so high that many will have to buy their own insurance, instead of getting it from their employers. I'm voting for Obama. There's nothing impressive to me about that old geezer McCain, with a poor health care plan. I feel this country really needs a democratic president at this time.

Before the invasions, millions around the world and in the USA protested against the war. If they could see that it would be a disaster, why couldn't Bush? This disaster DID 'go as planned'. There was no plan - even the generals told the Bush gang repeatedly that what they were proposing wouldn't work and some were forced to resign for saying it.

I do not disagree with you that millions around the world opposed going to war in Iraq, nor do I disagree that it has been a disaster. But my point was that Americans overwhelmingly supported the military operations, as did Congress. Yes millions protested against it, but many more supported it than those who did not. Of course, we thought there were WMDs. 90% of the country and Congress supported going to war in Iraq. Now that it has not gone as planned, people forget that and just blame Bush. I am not sure about that with McCain's plan.... But Katie put it to Sarah. She will have to appear strong versus Biden in next week's debate. Certainly it makes no sense to support the killing of babies while opposing the killing of murderers. Your right, it doesn't. Which is why I'm against both abortion and the death penalty. Of course, we thought there were WMDs. Those who, like me, opposed the invasion could see no evidence of WMDs and could see that Bush was using that as an excuse. There was far more chance of finding them without an invasion and if he had had them, far more chance he would use them against US forces. It was a foolish, reckless waste of life motivated by the desire for no bid contracts and other exploitation of the US treasury. The results are now visible.
