Much lacking in Bee coverageIn regard to "Familiarity breeds fear, worry, anger" (July 18, Page A-1): The reason Professor As'ad AbuKhalil probably declined to speak to your reporter is because someone at The Bee misspelled his name. Having lived in Modesto previously, I had the displeasure of reading The Bee. Your newspaper barely can report competently on local and statewide events, much less world events. Please stick to reporting on more important events, such as how many marriage proposals Scott Peterson has received since he has been incarcerated. Finally, I doubt that The Bee would have been interested in what Professor AbuKhalil had to say anyway, because whatever he said likely would have been too intellectual for most of the readers of The Bee to comprehend. DANIEL GIRALDI Altus, Okla. (I sure agree with him on that - their coverage of the trial was incredibly biased).

I agree. The "reporting" in the Modesto Bee is biased, not to mention.... just plain .... bad. I doubt Garth will ever do anything beyond the Modesto Bee
