Is CCADP 's site protected with copyright? I start to be tired about people who paste and copy our posts 100 times a day. Can we do anything to stop this? Ela

What's sad, is they only copy and paste what's beneficial to them rather than the whole truth. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm not an attorney, (I am a published writer) but it is my understanding that copying and pasting--even with the writer's name on the post--is a violation of copyright law unless permission is obtained. This is true of both published and unpublished works. (And whenever you write something, it is automatically copyrighted.)
Like I said, I am not an expert. This is what I have been told. The copyright office does have an online site where you could check for clarification.

If you state your source, giving a link to where you took it from, then you are permitted to take extracts of other people's writing.

You don't need to put copyrights on it really. Anything written is automatically copyrighted. But people can still take extracts if they state their source. Anyway, I don't see a problem in others taking pieces of posts from here, as long as they link back.

I think that is only if it is serious. If it is something related to websites and forums, I think you can have the website/forum using other people's material shut down at the most.

I think that depends also on the reasons why you copy and paste things; if it is only as information source it is one thing, if you do it to "spam" people and offend it would be completely another matter.

could you copy and paste rules and edit them?

The same rules apply for everything written by a person. If you were copying, pasting an editing rules though, you may as well just write them out yourself. There is no copyright on taking certain pieces of information and putting it into your own words (provided it is not original ideas/concepts etc).

I don't think something like that would be a major deal, and I don't think anywone would even bother doing anything about something like that. But rather than copying and pasting, it would probably be better to at least put it into your own words.

Well you can take the basic ideas of others' rules if you want, and then just put them into your own words. For example, "Do not swear" could become "Please do not use exclicit language".
