I agree with you that it would be impossible to generalize about why women connect romantically with DR prisoners. That's why I'm reluctant to depend exclusively on the input of psychologists and other 'experts.' Instead I'd prefer to hear from some of the women themselves (whether by phone or email). I'm writing the story because of the Michael Ross case here in Connecticut, but I think it would be effective to show a range of people and circumstances involved in such relationships. Fyi, my deadline is Wednesday afternoon. Among the questions I'm curious about: How did correspondence that might have started with feelings of curiosity or concern lead into feelings of love? What is fulfilling about a relationship with little or no physical intimacy? And how has the relationship changed your personal life? For example, have you moved, traveled, or altered your relationship with family or friends because of it? Thanks again.
