Yikes, seriously ??!! He mentions it in private and they publicise it like that??!! That is soooooo dangerous. The media really have the mightiest power around, using the old saying 'no smoke without fire'. Works every time 'cos it only takes a grain of suspicion to build up whole mountains of guilt in the public's mind's eye. Pumpkin, I know what you meant - I have personal views about certain individuals too based on their appearance and/or their suspicious behaviour. I wasn't commenting based on my profession. I'm a civil litigator (I'd like to think civil in all senses of the word!! ) so cannot claim to know as much as some of you guys concerning criminal law issues. Anyway, I think if I had to practise in the US, I would need regular muscle relaxants and counselling thanks to the DP's existence!!

Ok your right, its real normal to make a false confession to raping and murdering a child. I think he is in prison now. Did you think that was admirable that he confessed to this? Did you think it was the act of someone sane? These were private emails to a person he thought was interested in finding the killer. He didn't offer his 'confession' first to the Boulder PD. They always sounded like he was saying "If I was the killer I would be thinking ...". Also, many people make false confessions - esp. to well reported cases. I didn't know any of that! I just thought he confessed, now its sounding like he may have been framed. If what your saying is true, then he could have been tricked into a confession, but that part of cource wouldn't make the news.

I saw something on the news about him tonight. He's getting ready to be released from prison. He's not going to have to register as a sex offender either, because apparently they lost whatever child porn was on his computer.
