taken from THE SUN newspaper (UK) today: www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2005270642,00.html A CHINESE woman believed to have been murdered in the 1980s has turned up alive, 16 years after the man convicted of killing her was executed. Teng Xingshan was convicted and executed in 1989 after the court heard he had confessed to the murder of Shi Xiarong. A dismembered body was found in a town in the central province of Hunan and police concluded it was Shi. The prosecution case stated that Teng, a butcher, and Shi had had an affair and he killed her for stealing his money. But when Shi turned up, she claimed she had been sold by her family as a wife. The discovery comes just two months after a murder conviction was quashed in an unrelated case involving a man who said he was tortured into confessing by police. The 1989 verdict against Teng says he “confessed his crime on his initiative and his confession conforms with scientific inspection and identification." In April, a man who spent 11 years in prison in the province of Hubei was freed after his former wife, who he was convicted of killing, turned up alive. The man, She Xianglin, said that after his wife disappeared in the mid-1990s, police kept him awake for 10 days until he signed a confession that he didn’t even read. After She was released, one of the officers he accused of torture committed suicide.

We are far more careful...But for some crimes and some inmates, the Death penalty is what is needed...
With Kenneth McDuff, you would pull the switch on him...No anti-Death penalty person showed up...One offered to pull the switch herself...

Therefore i disagree that any human being has the right to decide anothers fate. with this in mind, governments are created with human beings. only one being has the right to take life. GOD. not us, no matter what. we haven't the authority or the right. Just my view.

Mike I read your post about how Texas is more careful...then please explain to me how people are being executed because of procedural barring rules. This is the topic that people do not seem to understand. Good claims, lost forever due to poor lawyering. This happens everyday in the great State of Texas. In June of 2000 then Govenor Bush stated that every person under his watch had a fair trial and a full review--that was not true then, nor is it today. What about Ernest Willis, Cameron Todd Willingham and so many more? The State of Texas's judicial system is based on perception rather than reality. Do you think the CCA is fair and just? How about the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals? I remain in the front lines! ;D

Mo-DAWG Ok, so I didnt word that just right. The shut up part is...well its basically being sarcastic. I admit..wrong time and probably wrong place but just nice to see someone post something that isnt slamming America for the DP here. Just out of curiosity...anyone write to inmates in other countries? Despite what some are going to say...it is a question and I am wondering if penpals write to other inmates in different countries.

This reminds me of a trial of an accused serial killer in Queensland trial where one of the victims turned up alive. He was found guilty of the other 4 murders he was accused of though
