Richard Cartwrights mom wants to thank everyone involved with sending her the gift :
"... I am not sure of everyone involved in getting that for me, but truly, it touched my heart. I didn't think this weekend was going to be so hard, but it is. It is actually pretty awful, but knowing that people care, that you are your organization are reaching out to me, it does make a difference. Thank you so very, very much. "
I made sure she knew it was all of us at the board and not just CCADP; and invited her to come and join us when she can,
Thanks to everyone involved! tracy

I guess those of us who are parents, can relate to some extent as to what she is going through, but to say that we understand, would be crazy. We just don't. And to be honest (and a little egoistic), I am really glad I can't fully understand what she is going through. It is still my wish that Irene will know that we are thinking about her, Ricki, all of Richard's personal friends and particularly Richard himself these days. Not that it helps, but tears are beging shed from all over this globe as I write. What Irene said on KDOL last Sunday was awesome: She said that "Today, we're celebrating Richard's life" among other things. It made a huge impact on those of us who were sitting around the world listening, so this statement must have gone directly to Richard's heart. To hear his daughter talking to his dad on the radio was one of the most powerful I've heard for my entire life. I bet Ricki's little butterfly kisses touch the heart of everyone who were listening, and the comfort it must have given to Richard was.... Well - I'm in loss of words. I might sound extremely naive, but this is something moms should never be put through, and only a society that does not at all respect - nor understand - how a mom is being punished is at all able to carry on such an utter insanity. Who knows? It may turn out well! And who knows? Maybe Richard will be able to be playing with his little daugher on the grass, maybe one day Richard will be driving a motorcycle with Paul again. I hope she is able to keep her spirits up and also be able to take great care of herself right now. Love, Turid

I told her she has a lot of friends on this board; and a lot of people are reading Richard's words...she responded :
."...I think Rich is reaching a lot of people. I know for sure that several of his strongest supporters and great pen-pals became acquainted with him because of your site. I think together, many people are being reached and educated about the death penalty. God bless, Irene"

Thanks for letting us know. Also, we need to keep Rich in our prayers for I know it has been tough for him since Lonnie was executed. They were best friends. Not only does he have to deal with his date of death, but also the death of his friend too.
