Hello, There's a controversial new book out about the last hangings in Canada, which took place at Toronto's Don Jail in December, 1962. The book, by journalist Robert J. Hoshowsky, sheds new light on the hangings of Ronald Turpin and Arthur Lucas, a Black American. It seems likely Lucas was innocent, and all the evidence against him was circumstantial. It's shocking to believe that no book was published until now, 45 YEARS after these two men were hanged! Precious little was known about them until now. The author spent over five years writing and researching the book, which is based on original interviews, hidden documents, trial transcripts, and newspaper accounts. This book finally confirms the truth and reveals the gruesome mistake that cost Arthur Lucas not only his life but also his head. I found the book at Amazon, and more info is at the author's website, www.truecrimecanada.com He's open to interviews about the book.
