this week, on THURSDAY NIGHT/FRIDAY MORNING at 2:30 AM, the state of connecticut has scheduled Michael Ross' execution by lethal injection. this is the first death-penalty execution in the state of connecticut in 50 years.
this is the NIGHT OF MAY 12 and the MORNING OF MAY 13. there is a vigil at Somers Congregational Church (about 20 miles from Hartford, CT) starting at 8:30 PM on THURSDAY, MAY 12 after which attendees will be encouraged to march to a location close to the correctional facility where the execution is taking place, and bear witness to the state of connecticut's murder of Michael Ross.
it is a 1.4 mile, van-supported walk from the church to the field where we are being permitted to demonstrate. the march route follows a dirt road lined with forrests on either side where state corrections officers will be hiding, and the demonstration site is bordered by forrests and a barbed-wire fence on one side.
