I've been writing to a woman at Muncy for a few months now. I always put stickers on the envelope when I send a card or letter. Today I get my most recent letter back - it hasn't been opened but they wrote across it "NO STICKERS" and stamped it "Return to Sender". WTF??? I just sent her another letter two days ago with stickers all over it and now I guess I'll get that one back too. Why would they suddenly change their minds about something as innocent as a few stickers? Does anyone know if I can send them an email to ask them what the rules are specifically? It gets awful expensive to send things twice from Germany. I'm just so MAD!!!

Yeah, Muncy can be like that.
I sent Tookie William's book to a penpal there and they sent it back to the publisher because they didn't approve of the envelope. The publisher told me they have sent that book to prisons all over the US and that was the first time one was sent back...... so they can be jerks.
I don't think you can e-mail them- don't know if it would be worth a call. I think all you can do is to stop using stickers.
It's frustrating, I know.

Guess someone out there in Muncy was having a bad day, I dont know why they like to stuff around so much!!! I use address stickers on all my letters etc so I guess there might be a few sent back to me as well!!! They can do as they wish but I will keep writing and supporting the inmates

It seems to me that the goal of prisons in the U.S. is to make each and every inmate feel as uncomfortable, miserable and lonely as possible. They pretty well succeed, too. Know that your letters and support are helping your friend make it from one day to the next in conditions that no human being, no matter how flawed, should ever have to endure. Just knowing that one person out there cares makes all the difference. Take a deep breath, hang in there, and resend those letters, or else write one nice long letter to explain and catch up. No stickers, though!
