Hmm, in relation to writing to someone on the basis that they 'seem innocent', what do you do if they turn out to not be innocent? I would caution against writing to someone just 'cos you think they are innocent. You and they can only end up disappointed after all the effort employed at both ends, if you realise at a later date that perhaps the person is not innocent after all. Please try to see them as a person first and foremost and then as a subject of legal analysis. That way, you run less risk of disappointment. That's my view from experience anyway.
