If the execution of a murder....the worst of the worst....saves the life of the innocent.... there is plenty of true justification.... I see no justification in allowing them to continue to murder....anywhere. That's not what happens in practice.

So do atheists, agnostics, Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs, pagans and any other variation. The fact is that the death penalty is NOT immoral and NOT an act of revenge and it's just DISHONEST to PRETEND that it is. IF the death penalty is an act of revenge (which it isn't) the same thing applies to imprisonment or any other act of punishment. It's just DISHONEST to claim that the death penalty is UNIQUELY an act of revenge. There are lots of GOOD arguments against capital punishment - the revenge claim is NOT one of them. For what it's worth your argument is logically invalid anyway because it's what my hubby Mike calls an 'argumentem ad hoiminem' which is ALWAYS false by definition. Hi ya Linda.... Correct & well put. IMHO...the "vengence" angle is no more valid than when pro's insinuate that anit's are actually in favor of murder...it's disenginuous & just doesn't hold water.
