Also, about Richard Cartwright, he was part of the robbery, someone was killed and under Texas law you don't have to be the shooter to get the death penalty. He wasn't the first and he won't be the last I am sure.

I saw 10 transit police belt up a man on a nearby railway station to my home. I didn't think that was necessary as well. Sometimes some officers are a bit power hungry I had stopped running and was already on my knees when he sprayed me. He didn't have the right to attck me with chemicals or his knight stick. It wasn't even a violent crime, just a car stereo but he jacked it all up and I wound up doing extra time. That isn't fair and seeing how they will go overboard for just a car stereo, I can see how they railroad people on deathrow. That's why so many innocent people are found on the row. The state will screw you if they get the chance. My mother-in-law were driving through Dallas about 2 or 3 a.m. and the police had a man on his knee in front of the police with his hands behind his back. There was about 6 cops to this one man. They shoved this man to the concrete. There wasn't any cause for that.

Well, if you have been to prison and you talk like that.. I would say this is the BIGGEST prison's system FAILURE. Prison should rehabilitate and not let people out full of those feelings that you are expressing now.

I think I will disagree with the fact that the death penalty is evil in itself.
Perhaps a disussion on the priorities of the criminal justice system is in order

I think that executions are illegal and they take away the constitutional rights that Americans have. Aren't we guaranteed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? By executing someone you take these away. Yes. We are guaranteed those things. However, once we infringe on someone else's rights, they can be taken away. Take a look at the supreme court case South Bend vs. the Kitty Cat Lounge. Obviously, with a name like "Kitty Cat Lounge", you know what kind of place this is. The residents of South Bend did as well, and, they petitioned to have the club closed down. The owner of the lounge cited the 1st amendment, saying that it was freedom of expression. The supreme court justices disagreed. They said that the freedom of expression can be subjugated if society disagrees with the expression. The same concept is used in the "yelling fire in a crowded movie theatre" analogy. So, yes--we are given rights. But, those rights are not unconditional.

Hey truth1! Hadn't seen you in a while. Hope you had a good weekend. hugggz, Suzanne Thanks. It was nice. Not nearly long enough though. I always thought we had it backwards--we should work Saturday and Sunday, and then get Monday-Friday off. How was your weekend?

Same here...not long enough. I'm taking a long weekend the end of the month. I don't like taking all of my vacation days at one time....it seems like I get more out of having a 4 or 5 long weekends.
I take about 2 or 3 days at a time.
