STARR HILL MISSING, LAKE COUNTY, CAMiddletown woman still missing Elizabeth Larson - Record-Bee staff Friday, May 27, 2005 MIDDLETOWN -- It's been more than a week since 46-year-old Starr Hill walked away from her Western Mine Road home. Since that time, her family has not heard from her not even a phone call to daughter, April Robinson, who said she and her mother usually talk between one and five times a day. Even stranger, said Robinson, is that Hill missed birthday celebrations for her two young grandchildren this week, occasions Robinson said her mother would not miss. Hill reportedly left her home in the early afternoon of May 18 following an argument with her husband, Curtis Hill. The weather that day saw the county buffeted by heavy rain. Curtis Hill, who works as a firefighter in Contra Costa County, said his wife angrily left the house, walking down their half-mile-long driveway. When she left home, Starr Hill reportedly was wearing a black leather jacket, a green sweater and blue jeans. During their five-year marriage, Starr Hill has been known to take off for days at a time, Curtis Hill said. But he agrees with Robinson that it's strange Starr hasn't contacted her daughter. Robinson said she called her mother's cell phone and credit card companies; neither have reported any activity since her disappearance. These unusual circumstances led to Robinson filing a missing report on her mother last Saturday. Sgt. Dave Garzoli of the Lake County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) confirmed Thursday that Hill is still missing. Garzoli said members of the K-Corps and Lake County Search and Rescue conducted a search of the Hills' 37-acre property May 24 and found no signs of Starr Hill. The case, said Garzoli, now is in the hands of LCSO detectives. Hill is described as being 5 feet 3 inches tall, 140 pounds, with long, dark brown hair and hazel eyes. The family reports she has a noticeable chicken pox scar on her forehead. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the LCSO, 263-2331. www.record-bee.com/Stories/0,1413,2...2891097,00.html Middletown woman remains missing Elizabeth Larson - Record-Bee staff Article Last Updated: Friday, June 03, 2005 - MIDDLETOWN -- It's been more than two weeks, and still no word about the whereabouts of a missing Middletown woman, whose family is baffled by her disappearance. On Friday, Clearlake resident April Robinson reported that she had heard "not a thing" from her mother, Starr Hill, who was last seen May 18 walking away from her Western Mine Road home following an argument with her husband, Curtis. Both Robinson and Curtis Hill have said the 46-year-old Starr has left home on several previous occasions, usually following domestic disputes. But Robinson said her mother has never gone this long without contacting her and that, even more worrying, Hill's credit card and cell phone companies have still not reported any activity on those accounts. Since her disappearance, Robinson said Hill has also missed the birthdays of two of her grandchildren. Chief Deputy Russell Perdock of the Lake County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) said Friday the agency has received numerous calls from people who say they've seen Hill, but that so far nothing has come of that information. "We're following up on all of those leads, but we haven't been able to make contact with her personally," Perdock said. LCSO, along with members of K-Corps and Lake County Search and Rescue, conducted a search for Starr Hill on May 24 on the 37-acre property where she lives with her husband. Officials said they found no trace of her during the search. Curtis Hill, who works as a firefighter in Contra Costa County, said Friday he and other family members have been handing out brochures about Starr's disappearance in the south county, Napa County and in Fort Bragg, where she has been known to visit. He said he plans to visit Santa Cruz, where she has lived previously, and distribute information about her there. The family is also looking for organizations that can help continue the search, he said, adding he's not sure of what to do next. "I'm running out of answers," Curtis Hill said. Starr Hill is 5 feet 3 inches tall, 140 pounds, with long, dark brown hair and hazel eyes. When she was last seen May 18, Hill was wearing a black leather jacket, a green sweater and blue jeans. If you believe you've seen Starr Hill or have any other information about the case, call the LCSO, 263-2331. www.record-bee.com/Stories/0,1413,2...2903976,00.html

THOMAS HOEFLAAK MISSING, FLINT, MIMissing Mundy man has police perplexed THE FLINT JOURNAL FIRST EDITION By Jaclyn Roeschke Saturday, June 04, 2005 MUNDY TWP. - Thomas Hoeflaak, 56, was due to close on the sale of his home at 3 p.m. Tuesday. He never arrived. Now Mundy Township police are asking for the public's help in finding the lifelong township resident, who family members say is reliable and always on time - if not early - for every appointment. "This is definitely out of character for him to be gone this long without letting someone know where he's at," said his son, Thomas Hoeflaak II. "He plans everything out to the tee. If he says he's going to do something, he does it." Thomas Hoeflaak was last seen by neighbors getting into his red Chevrolet pick-up truck at 9 a.m. Tuesday, said Detective J. Diem of the Mundy Township Police Department. When he didn't show up to sell his home, his Realtor notified his wife, Virginia, who was in Florida. Virginia Hoeflaak asked a neighbor to notify police Wednesday morning. Hoeflaak and his wife have lived in Mundy Township their entire lives, but just recently bought a home in Florida. The two were living in Florida together until two months ago, when Hoeflaak returned to Michigan to sell their home and pack the rest of their belongings. Hoeflaak is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds with brown and gray hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black baseball cap, black jeans and glasses. His 1998 Chevrolet pickup has the license number YC9227. Diem said the case is unusual because Hoeflaak has no history of health problems and has never disappeared before for any length of time. "Usually when you have somebody that goes missing as an adult, when you talk to the family you find out that they've disappeared without contacting the family before," she said. "Typically a person does not go missing at this age that does not have a chemical dependency, past behavior like this or medical problems." In fact, Thomas Hoeflaak II, 32, who lives in Minnesota, said his father would always call his family if he was going to be late, and would typically show up early for appointments. "This is the first time in my life where I haven't gotten a call and he wasn't around," he said. Mundy Township police ask anyone with information on Hoeflaak to call their local police department. *** DESCRIPTION Thomas Hoeflaak AGE: 56 HEIGHT: 5 feet 11 inches WEIGHT: 160 pounds HAIR COLOR: Brown and gray LAST SEEN WEARING: Black T-shirt, black baseball cap, black jeans and eyeglasses. www.mlive.com/news/fljournal/index....87635199740.xml

RICHARD PETRONE and DANIELLE IMBO MISSING, PHILADELPHIA, PAPa. Couple's Whereabouts Stump Police By GEOFF MULVIHILL Associated Press Writer PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- In more than a month since a couple vanished after a night out, their cell phones have not been dialed, their credit cards have not been used and the pickup truck they were driving has not been found. People who visit the city's nightlife spots are reminded by ubiquitous fliers that Richard Petrone, 35, and Danielle Imbo, 34, have been missing since Feb. 19. A Web site dedicated to Imbo is rife with speculation about what happened, a billboard on Interstate 95 gives details and relatives have pleaded for help on national television. But the case so far has stumped authorities and families of the missing. "As one of the detectives said, they don't believe in flying saucers, so where did they go?" said Petrone's father, Richard Petrone Sr. Petrone appeared with other relatives of the missing couple at a news conference Tuesday. Among those there was Imbo's estranged husband, Joe Imbo, who has moved into his wife's Mount Laurel, N.J., home since she disappeared to care for their 20-month-old son, Joseph III. The families pleaded for help finding Petrone, who lived in Philadelphia, and Imbo. They believe that because of the couple's strong ties to family, they would not have run away on their own. "I just need him back, please, please," Petrone's 14-year-old daughter, Angela, said through tears. A reward for information has grown to around $50,000, said Richard Petrone Sr. Police have neither named nor ruled out anyone _ including Danielle Imbo's estranged husband _ as a suspect. Craig Mitnick, a lawyer who is acting as a liaison between Imbo and Petrone's families and police, said it's increasingly likely that the two are dead and that there was an organized plot to harm them. "One person couldn't have done that," Mitnick said. Imbo and Petrone have known each other since they were both in high school in southern New Jersey in the mid-1980s, though they started dating only recently. Petrone helps run his family's bakery in Ardmore. Imbo, a former singer in a local rock band, processes mortgages from her home while caring for her son. The couple left Abilene, a bar and restaurant, on a Saturday night last month and told friends they planned to return to Mount Laurel. From the bar, their trail disintegrates. Police have not found people who saw the couple on the street. The two have not visited cash machines, used credit cards or made cell phone calls. Surveillance cameras in front of ATMs did not show them passing by. And cameras on bridges did not catch Petrone's black pickup driving into New Jersey, Cooney said. Nearly every street in the city has been searched for the truck. So have the parking lots at Philadelphia International Airport, back roads of the New Jersey Pine Barrens and the swampy land of Tinicum Township, just south of Philadelphia. The search has gone into New York, Delaware and up and down the New Jersey Shore. Police across the country have been alerted. With attention to the disappearance on "America's Most Wanted" and other national television programs, tips have poured in, said Cooney. "Some little old lady from Iowa called me today," he said. "She thinks she saw the truck." But, Cooney said, no such leads have panned out. ___ On the Net: www.danielleimbo.comwww.richardpetrone.comwokv.com/common/ap/2005/03/23/D890RIEO0.html pdf flyer to download and distribute: www.richardpetrone.com/files/missing.pdf Family organizing search party to seek missing couple By DANIELLE CAMILLI Burlington County Times 4/6/2005 For more than six weeks, the friends and families of Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone Jr. have hoped, prayed and worked with authorities to try to find the missing couple. Now, Petrone's family is organizing a search party in an effort to turn up leads in the disappearance. They are asking volunteers to meet at noon Saturday at Abilene's, a bar at 429 South St. in Philadelphia. Abilene's is the last place Imbo, 34, of Mount Laurel and Petrone, 35, of Philadelphia were seen. They left the bar together at 11:45 p.m. Feb. 19. Neither has been heard from since, and their cell phones and credit cards have not been used since their disappearance. Petrone's black, 2001 Dodge Dakota also is missing. Family members have said Imbo would never leave her 21-month-old son and Petrone was a devoted father to his 14-year-old daughter. A spokesman for the Philadelphia Police Department said yesterday there is no new information in the case. Donna Valente, a cousin of Petrone's, said organizers are in the process of determining the extent of Saturday's search. "I believe we will search a 10- to 15-mile radius (around the bar)," Valente said. The friends and families of the couple searched much of that area in the days after the disappearance. Police also have searched for days in Philadelphia and New Jersey. "When we talked to police, we felt they did a pretty exhaustive air and water search," Valente said. She said the search party also will visit nearby storage facilities and warehouses. A second search, scheduled for April 16, could take volunteers into the Pinelands, Valente said. "Police have helicoptered over the Pine Barrens, but there has been no foot search," she said. Organizers have yet to determine what area to target there. A $25,000 award has been offered for information leading to the couple's whereabouts. Anyone with information may call Philadelphia police at (215) 686-3013, the New Jersey State Police at (800) 709-7090, or the Citizens Crime Commission of Delaware Valley's anonymous tip line at (215) 546-TIPS. "There's a lot of people who want to help," Valente said. "Even if it's just finding a lead, it will help. We want to foster some kind of hope. Not knowing anything is destroying everyone. It's a tragedy." www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/112...005-472578.html $100K Reward in Pair's Disappearance June 4, 2005 —<br> The search for Richard Petrone, Junior and Danielle Imbo turns to Staten Island. They were last seen on South Street in Philadelphia on February 19th. Since then, it's been very difficult for their families from South Philadelphia and Mount Laurel. Family and friends have increased the reward to 100-thousand dollars for information leading to an arrest. The couple was last seen in Petrone's black Dodge pick up which is also missing. Searches in Philadelphia and New Jersey yielded no clues. Now friends hope someone in Staten Island can offer a possible clue. Tipsters are asked to call the Citizen's Crime Commission at 215-546-tips. abclocal.go.com/wpvi/news/060405_nw_imbo-petrone.html

CARLY MILLER MISSING, CLEVELAND, OHClues sought in woman's disappearance Saturday, June 04, 2005 Police are searching for a 25-year-old Cleveland woman who has been missing since May 27, when she left a downtown bar to catch a bus for her East 90th Street apartment. Carly Miller was at The House of Cues Café on West Superior Avenue at 11:30 p.m. when she told her boyfriend she was going to take a bus home, as she had done in the past. She never showed up at the apartment they shared. Her boyfriend reported her missing the next day. Police are particularly suspicious because Miller, who worked at Dave's Cosmic Subs on East Sixth Street, never picked up a $2,500 check her mother had mailed to a UPS Store. She has stars tattooed on her wrists, an owl on her back and a man and woman on her side, according to police. REMEGIO "ROMIE" JONE MISSING, LOS LUNAS, NMMan missing two weeks, left possessions behind Clara Garcia News-Bulletin Staff Writer; Saturday, June 4, 2005 Los Lunas Police are looking for a missing Los Lunas man last seen at his home two weeks ago. Remegio "Romie" Jone, 62, was scheduled to be at work at 9:30 a.m. on May 19, but he never arrived. Jone's girlfriend of five years, Tina Armijo, said the last time she saw him was earlier that morning when she left their home on Castillo Street to get her oil changed. "I left about 8:30 that morning, and I got back home about an hour, hour and a half, later," she said. "At first, I didn't think anything was wrong because he had to be at work by 9:30." According to Armijo, when she returned home, a message from Jone's boss was on the answering machine inquiring why had hadn't shown up at work. Armijo said it was very rare that Jone would miss a day of work at KFC in Los Lunas. "He was very dedicated to his work," she said. "He very rarely misses, and, when he would, he would make sure to tell them. He had just started there in March, and he seemed to love his job. This is just not like him at all." Los Lunas Detective Captain Charles Nuanes said the disappearance is totally out of character and police have concerns for Jone's safety. While Nuanes said the investigation into the case has turned up nothing, he's hoping that someone will come forward with information about Jone's whereabouts. "I don't think foul play is involved," Nuanes said. "There are no indications of that at this time. We are just hoping to find him and make sure he is all right." Nuanes entered Jone's information into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). NCIC is a national data bank used by law enforcement around the country to track criminals as well as to find missing persons. "He did have a vehicle, but it really wasn't road worthy and may have not made it a long ways," Nuanes said. "But what concerns us is that he didn't take any personal belongings other than his wallet and his car." Not only did Jone leave behind all of his personal belongings, including his cellular telephone, Armijo said he and his girlfriend were getting ready to leave the next day for a state bowling tournament in Roswell. Armijo said she has called all of his relatives and his friends, but no one has seen or heard from him since the day he went missing. "I even went to look for him at all of his usual fishing spots, I called the people in Roswell and they said he never showed up, and I called all the hospitals," Armijo said. "I just don't know where he is, and I'm worried. Every night, I make phone call after phone call trying to find him. If he left, I can handle that, but I just want to know that he's OK." Jone is described as standing about 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 135 pounds, having brown eyes and a medium complexion. He wears glasses and is bald. The vehicle is a white two-door 1986 Suburu DLXT with the license plate 616-KWP. If anyone has information about where Remegio "Romie" Jone may be, call the Los Lunas Police Department at 865-9130. www.news-bulletin.com/news/51633-06-04-05.html

Police, family still looking for Bowen Despite searches, psychic, no leads in effort to find Buchanan woman. By DAVID SALISBURY Tribune Staff Writer June 2, 2005 BUCHANAN -- It's now been five and a half months since 56-year-old Marquette Bowen disappeared from her Fulton Street home. After numerous dead-end avenues to find the 5-foot-6, 100-pound woman, the utilization of search-and-rescue dogs could be the next tactic. Detective Milt Russell at the Berrien County Sheriff's Department has been working with Buchanan Police Department to arrange for search dogs to be shipped over from Wolverine Canine, a southwest Michigan volunteer company that provides dogs for such purposes. Buchanan Patrolman Dave Capron said that Russell put in a request not too long ago but has yet to hear back. "It's all still in the works, but we hope to have the dogs in the not-too-distant future," Capron said. Numerous family and police organized searches have been made since her Dec. 15 disappearance. Despite the utilization of horses, boats and a helicopter, the searches have been essentially fruitless. Several sightings were reported early in the case, but they've produced limited progress and many have been proven false. The most recent avenue for information was Noreen Renier, a psychic investigator who Bowen's family requested and paid for during April. Renier, who was reportedly consulted during the Laci Peterson search in California, offered possible clues that have since been investigated. "We searched the different areas (Renier) mentioned along the St. Joe River several times but found nothing," Capron said. Despite the lack of progress thus far, Karen McGuirt, Bowen's sister and Moccasin Elementary School teacher, dismisses claims that the case has been dropped by police. "It's still an open case and the city police is still running an investigation," McGuirt said. "I just talked to the police at the Buchanan department last Saturday and I never heard anything about the case being dropped." Although no major searches are planned at present time, the family and police urge anyone with any information to step forward. "If we get any new information, we will most definitely look into it," Capron said. Bowen was last seen near her home at 109 Fulton St. in eyeglasses, jeans, tennis shoes and possibly a brown wool coat. She also might have been walking north on North Red Bud Trail around 3 p.m. that day. Bowen was under a doctor's care for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and paranoia. Her family believes she may not have been taking her medication regularly when she disappeared. Contact information Marquette Bowen, 109 Fulton St., Buchanan, has been missing since Dec. 15. Missing Woman May Have Ties to Occult www.10tv.comJune 02 2005 A Whitehall woman vanished seemingly without a trace nearly two months ago. Whitehall Police detectives say they haven't a clue regarding the whereabouts of Tina Wilson. Now, the story is taking on a bizarre twist, with indications of foul play and signs of involvement with witchcraft and the occult. "It’s a very strange mystery. I don't know any other way to put it,” Whitehall Police Detective Dan Kelso told 10TV. Detective Kelso has spent the better part of two months searching for clues. "Every day when I come to work, I think I'll pop in and Tina's back. But that's not the case. Nothing has changed," Kelso said. The 43-year old suddenly disappeared late in April. “We have no idea where she's at. The circumstances are strange, and there is some… some indication of foul play, because of the things left behind." "She's left behind her car, still parked at the apartment. She left behind her paycheck,” Kelso said. And she didn't report for work at an east side Wendy's where co-workers describe Wilson as a very hard working, very good employee. "For her not to show up and not call her manager would be extremely out of the ordinary," Kelso said. "We're approaching two months with no contact with anyone we know of." Investigators now say they have unearthed new evidence that ties Tina Wilson to a lifestyle no one imagined. "She was involved in witchcraft and Wicca,” Kelso said. So the detective hypothesized that Wilson may have felt she needed to be somewhere else. Anyone with any information about Wilson or her whereabouts is being asked to contact Whitehall Police at 614-237-6333. www.10tv.com/Global/story.asp?S=3420418

Family searches for missing teenage mother Posted 06/1/05 BAKERSFIELD - Graduation day may not be the same for the family of a teenage mother. The 18-year-old is missing, leaving her mother to tend to the missing woman’s daughter. Kristy Herron was last seen by her family two weeks ago, and neither her mother and her father said they’re beginning to fear the worst. “Jasmin needs her mom and I don't know where she's at,” said Nancy Herron, Kristy’s mother. Kristy was living with Jasmin’s father, 19-year-old Carlos Moreno. The Sheriff’s Department said Moreno has been arrested twice recently for abusing Kristy. The last time he was arrested, he wasn’t charged with the crime. That was two days before Kristy was last seen. When Kristy’s family went to her home, they found all of Moreno’s clothes were gone. But her family said they don’t understand why she disappeared so rapidly and without her bipolar disorder medication. Kristy’s mother said Kristy has been a troubled child since she was 10, but eventually finished her high school curriculum through home schooling. She was able to graduate through the special education department of Foothill High School. This week, her older sister bought her cap and gown that may never be worn. “I told myself I'm going to wait until finals are over to get emotional about it, but picking up the cap and gown just made it real that she's not here, because I shouldn't be picking up her cap and gown, she should be,” said Tiffane Llamas. Kristy is Caucasian with medium-length brown hair that she usually wears in a pony tail. She’s about five-foot-six and weighs about 300 pounds. Moreno is 19-year-old, Hispanic, has shaved black hair, and stands about five-foot four. He weights about 130 pounds. If you have any information on their whereabouts, you are urged to call Nancy Herron at 205-5969 or the Kern County Sheriff’s Department at 391-7500. www.kget.com/news/local/story.aspx?...CB-202FBF7605F3
