Girl power! ;D Hi Catz!!! I still didn't get through!! People must be calling like crazy! I wonder if they set up some kind of automated hold thing? Has anyone gotten through to a real person after the lady transfers the call?

I finally got through. I asked the lady if I could speak to someone about the killing of Rich Cartwright... she asked my name- I gave.. my state- I gave... then she said "Are you asking that the Gov grant a stay"... I said ABSOLUTELY! and she said I will relay the message... that was it.... I wonder if me saying I was from Ohio got me the *really* low consideration?...... does anybody think they keep track of these calls?
Any news yet?

Mike : I dont hardly think the man who possibly commited this crime is the same man they are executing today . I dont feel safer - I dont feel my daughter is safer - I dont feel our country is safer - I feel like we have lost someone who could have really shown alot to the world in the way of goodness . Life in prison would have protected YOU the same as it will murdering him tonight . I would like to know just how scared of richard cartwright have you been these last few years? I can promise u one thing .... You have not crossed his mind . His beautiful daughter has though ...and the birds he wont see ...and the things we all take for granite every single day . I hope you sleep well tonight .

They keep track of the calls; Ive seen them reported in 'big' cases that the media is falling (ie Gary Graham in the Bush governor years) - but I don't think they really care They just fear the opponent in the next election saying they are soft on crime, Cowards.

Dear ALS,
Even if Richard changed, which he might have, he still has committed a crime--To whit, murder. He and his friends robbed and killed a man. The law in Texas is if you kill during a felony, you are eliglble for capitol murder. He killed a man.
Yes, I will sleep well tonight. My high blood pressure meds make me sleep well...

I am not really in the right moon to talk about this today, I got all my energies praying for a miracle that could avoid the state's murder of another person today... Anyway, all the times I hear people talking about what kind of terrible crime can a person commit, and it's true, what people can do is really terrible sometimes... Anyway, when I hear talking about this, what I feel is only wish of revenge... ok, if you tell me that you have hate in your heart and you're looking for revenge... I don't understand it but I can accept it... I just think that we all should ask to our selves and our society why things like this still happen.. I work as social educator and "teaching education" is my life.. I mean we should work on prevention even more than spending time and money working on "the best punishment or sentence"... What I want to say is that I can accept punishment ONLY if it helps to rehabilitate someone.. I find punishment absolutely bootless when we use it to destroy and not to create... How can punishment help if it is finalized only to its self? I say this becouse of my personal experience and I deal with people who commit crimes ( violent crimes too) almost everyday and they are NEVER rehabilitated with violent methods... Violence generates violence Hate generates hate Murders generate murders ALWAYS Things can't change this way
