I watched this at the time and was not surprised by anything in it.
"We have the best legal system in the world", so says the Sheriff.
The truth is that the legal and penal system in the USA is one of the most corrupt in the world.
Love and hugs, Judy

well, as an executed inmate once said, "Capital Punishment....those without the Capital, get the Punishment." It's sad to think that we live in a world where the less money and fortunate circumstances you have, the more likely it is you will have to face something like the DP.

i am absolutely disgusted watched the video and i couldnt believe some of the things i saw especiall the man who was beaten on the floor by an officer. i cant believe that the correction officer thinks that they are ppl in there who are lying when the evidence is blatantly obvious. and the guards who were aquitted of killing the hispanic man. if they send ppl to the death chamber why dont they also send prison guards..

I'm opposed to the DP in principle, but your post does invite the rejoinder: Well...your odds will improve by bunches if you don't murder anyone! They get even better if you don't rob, assault or attack others. Even in a corrupt world and ugly legal system, the Golden Rule goes a long way. It's not foolproof, but it's better than nothing--the Rule, that is.

And if the lawyer they helped PAY FOR, gets the killer off, on some BS technicality.... They know beyond a doubt, that the killer will be heading for them to finish off the job they "botched" It's just the way the world IS, and always has been.

One thing is totally undenyable.....the same reason that an executed murderer cannot "say" anything, means that neither can he murder innocents, again....EVER. Same applies if you execute the innocent - they can't not kill anyone also. One cannot deny that the wealthy murderers DO have an advantage....witness the OJ Simpson fiasco. If the money wasted on the DP was spent on better trained cops he would be in prison today. Wealthy citizens have MANY advantages...health care, legal advise.... It's just the way the world IS, and always has been. So let's all celebrate failure? America's system is one of the fairest.....we DO provide all services, including free legal services (OK, in SOME cases, not as good as the best)..... It's one of the worst. It's so bad they've had to alter the law to make it much easier to convict people. As a result, it's almost impossible to defend yourself even if you are innocent. This is wrong, either EVERYBODY should have free legal representation, or nobody. It's not easy, for the victim of one of these career criminal, murderous beasts, to know, they are actually PAYING for the defense of someone who, in many cases, they actually KNEW, personally, and was shot, stabbed, choked, along with their murdererd lifetime mate, or child....and survived. And if the lawyer they helped PAY FOR, gets the killer off, on some BS technicality.... Like being innocent even if they are black? They know beyond a doubt, that the killer will be heading for them to finish off the job they "botched" So your theory is, kill all the poor people? I think that's been tried too. Did you ever hear of the French revolution?

Sadly, I'm not at all surprised.
Unfortunately some people in prison deliberately get jobs there in order to be able to abuse prisoners.
All the more reason why we need prison reform, humane treatment and alternatives to prison wherever possible.

I agree,
being a prison officer must be a tough job for those who do it in a noble fashion.

My father spent two years as a prison guard in Britain many years ago.
He resigned from the service after the authorities covered up a vicious assault on a prisoner by a guard.
My Dad might have been a screw but he was a good one.
