This is a truelly henious and violent crime, but I dont think that murdering the murderer will solve anything... This man should be locked up forever never to be released... It comes to mind also, that this man may have serious mental problems and in serious need of medical help, and possibly meds.
Just my 2 cents Tasha

In Norway we recently dealt with somewhat a similar case. A man who had killed his fiance spent ten years in prison, was relased, and later on he killed his 13 year old step daughter. It angered me beyond anything that he was set free and could kill again - and this time a child who had no way of defending herself. I believe he got maximum sentence for killing her, which is 21 years. That just doesn't cut it. I still don't believe the death penalty is the answer, but some people should be locked up for life indeed.

I am fully against the conditions on DR and thought fully against the DP itself, but with this crime, where the attack was extreme, twice (yrs apart), and confessed of his own will asummably, I have to reconsider where I stand. If this guy goes down, i can't say at this moment I would object. I guess this says something in regards to my position, maybe a crossroads etc. I've only been invloved with this DR topic for 2-3 months now and understand that views change. I feel a shooting is different from a beating. And also feel a crime against a baby can have no justification (feeling a sense of threath in anyway). Also, i felt that a life sentence was not the answer for any crime either. So, that being said, and thinking i would not want this guy ever to be my nieghbor, live close by me or even walk the streets at any point or age, i'm at that crossroads here.
What to do with a guy like this? Lock him up for sure, but for what, to live in a cage the rest of his life? Aristotle said, "to ask a question is to know half the answer". And with that, I say spare his life since we have prisons to hold him, thats what prisons do anyhow. So, in conclusion, my view stands if we have prisons, lock him up. If we dont have prisons one day and each community within themselves controlls the law of the land then at that point i'll reconsider the DP. Reason being, I aint baby sitting this guy. Until then, I say abolish the DP!
