My husband is on Alabama's DEATH ROW and has been there for almost 15 years, he is the most understanding man I have ever met, but when his mail is not being sorted correctly and in some cases given to the wrong inmate ... that does tend to get under his skin, my hubby loves mail, and is always asking for more, I do my very best to send him a letter and card daily, and believe me after mail runs he always calls me, I dnt dread that call, I'm always hoping that he received mail from me and not just the news paper he gets daily. I do have something to say about the mail system at Holman... it not a good put together plan, it needs lots of improvement. Inmates can receive 40 stamps per envelope, well a few weeks ago I asked mu hubbu if he would like for me to send him some stamps with a higher postage amount so that he would not have to send all his 39 cent stamps, he agreed and I got them and they come on a sheet the count on each sheet = 20 stamps, so i thought that 2 sheets =40 stamps and that has always been the rule, so when my hubby received the notice regarding the stamps and the excuse was to many stamps mailed at same time. Neither of us understood so finally 09/15/2006 it was explained that a inmate can onlu have a certiam $ amount i believe the anount = to $15.60 is the total amount of postage the inmate is ALLOWED to possess at any given time??? I know he paid for the postage for the rejected mail, but it's funny how the rejected mail has never been returned to me at my address,,, maybe someone wanted to keep the stamos for them self? other than that the hubby and I are in communication a lot... you should add the amounts of money i have paid to prisontalkonline.com they have made it where we can talk and the apart-ness do hurt as bad.
I'm holding down my man... he is just that special..

The gaols certainly have strange rules for things. I always wonder when I get a letter from my friends inside why the letters are franked and dont have any stamps?? And most come inside gaol envelopes too, not normal plain ones??? Can anyone explain that to me?? I would ask my friends but try to steer clear of subjects that might end up with me being asked for funds.

In Ely State Prison, Nevada you cannot send stamps. I send my friend money every now and then to help.
