When I see that Amnesty International is behind this site. It doesn't make me feel comfortable, since I am a Citizen of Canada , but I am also an Israeli citizen and A.I. is absolutely biased in it's view regarding the conflict we face here. I will not engage in a political debate, regarding that topic though. This is not the proper venue. However, I find the topic of the death penalty, very interesting. You see, here in Israel, it is not permitted except in cases of genocide or crimes against humanity. (The only person, ever executed in Israel was Adolph Eichmann) The rules of convictiction are very strict (We did not succeed in prosecuting'Ivan the terrible ' even though he is clearly guilty, to most...He was set free...The burden of proof was not m met, according to Israel law.. My question is, under these terms...Was the choice to kill Adolph Eichmann...The self confessing murderer of MILLIONS of people, wrong, also ? I am only against the death penalty for fear of an innocent or mentally ill person getting killed...Is this the reason that most are against it ? If not, did Adolph Eichmann deserve to die...Was he considered someone who should have the right to live?

As a Roma (gypsy) who lost family in the porraimos (what we call the gypsy holocaust) I am totally in support of the execution of Adolf Eichmann, Hoess and the other murdering Nazis who killed millions of Jews and 800,000 of my people. My uncle Jaime was a porraimos survivor and he wept when he told me how he lost his parents, his brother and sister in Auschwitz. Mercifully he was smuggled out to safety. It can't be wrong to execute the likes of Eichmann and Hoess. Sastimos! Mishto hom me dikava tute!

Amnesty Int'l is a group that should only make murderers feel comfortable. Don't forget how they tried to defend Saddam Hussein from execution. 5000 Kurds gassed-women and children included. If he had the chance, he would have put up the numbers that Eichmann did. Think about the money that they spent lobbying for his life. What could that have done for the survivors and their families? By the way, this probably is the wrong place to discuss this. Most likely we'll be told to take it to the 'Debate' section.

<No religious rants please. And using Jesus to support the death penalty is truly grotesque>

He felt the DP brought us all down to the level of the Nazis. Executing Eichmann only made him a martyr to the Nazi cause.

I am new here. I noticed that most activity took place years ago or I'm simply seeing nothing but older posts. I am undecided as to my views on the death penalty. However, I am convinced that prisoner/victim's family reconciliation is a good way to allow the family to ask questions they may long to have answered. It seems to me that it is also a way for the prisoner to express his remorse or make a case for his innocence to the people who are important in the issue. I commend you on your email options. I write to my former son in law through Jpay and it has blessed us both.
