If the condemned has eaten his last meal and is then given a last minute stay for whatever reason, why is he given the opportunity to custom order another final meal when his new date comes around? I wonder how the taxpayers (let alone the MVS) feel about this?

Because the law says the inmate is entitlted to receive a customised last meal prior to his execution.

I think most MVS are concentrated on their pain and their loss; and not on a 15 or 20 dollar meal. There are bigger issues here - pain and murder and heartbreak and tears and blood and guts, crime, human life and the hope for a better future.
I don't care if the MVS; the prisoners, the prosecutor; the lawyers; the judge and jury, the tie down team and the whole police force get pizza. There are much more important issues to consider here.
This is THE silliest argument / worry I have ever heard surrounding this issue. (no offense meant)

I wonder how the taxpayers (let alone the MVS) feel about this? And there was me thinking you were decent. That is the most SICK proposition I have ever heard! A man or a woman is going to be killed here. How TERRIFYING must that be? And you, all you can think about is money, and how much money? 10 dollars? Is it not horrific enough that one minute a person is preparing themselves to be killed, when suddenly there is a termination and they're thrown back into isolation again while waiting for another execution date, without you lot bickering on about 10 dollars??? If even? Oh God, where do you cruel people crawl from? Gill

Not on all cases of stay's of execution. Some get a last meal then they get a stay then some dont get another last meal at there next execution date.

I would not mind giving him another last meal IF he went through all of his appeals first. If he were pulling a stunt like this last one I would give him a tray with the same meal as all the other inmates were having for lunch or supper. I would, however, give him access to several condiments like tobasco sauce and peppers and soy sauce...

Gill It wasn't that terrifying for Robert McConnel, who last week milked the system out of a free pizza when he knew darn well that he was going to back out at the last minute. I bet it was the best meal of his whole life. I try to be a decent person, but sometimes guys like him just anger me so much.

I mean... he has tried to get what he wanted... it's not so much considering his quality of life... at the end he has a pizza in his stomach.. what does it changes in your life?

I forgot to say we will cook it before we give to him...I would not give anyone a frozen pizza before I cooked it...

I'm talking about prisoners in general. Anyway, even in Robert's case, I'd do anything to get a hug from my mum, and even a pizza if I was in his situation, and I don't see how it affects you, considering the millions spent on appeals for Life instead of Death, appeals which you wouldn't have to pay for if the death penalty was abolished. You know... it just boggles my mind to read all this. A man is about to be killed. A family is about to be torn apart (the inmates family) and the victims family is about to watch the person that killed their loved one die and all you can think about is that this guy gets a last meal? ?? Who gives a damn what he eats. What matters is how to help the inmates family deal with his death and the victims family deal with the emotions that are running through them at the time. You have your priorities all SCREWED up!!

I know that I read somewhere that some prisons are limiting what imantes can order as a last meal due to money issues.
But in all seriousness this is nuts. Why are you even wasting time with this question? Is this what pro's like to do on anti sites? Come on talk about serious issues.
