The states with the most pro-life laws have seen the biggest abortion declines New said (Washington Post, 9/23). How do we know? If they cross state lines to get away from those states how do the statistics compensate for that?

Does it matter? At least the results are improving.

I was just wondering if most people who are anti-death penalty are also against abortion? Because I am almost completely against it. I think if a teenager or anyone who doesn't want a kid accidentally gets pregnant, they should carry the baby in them for 9 months and then give it up for adoption. So many people want kids but can't have them. It's selfish to have an abortion, and it is murder, if you ask me. It is getting rid of a human life. I think abortion should only be legal in cases where the woman was raped. In those cases only, I believe the woman should not have to carry the baby for 9 months inside of them. In any other case I don't feel there is an accuse to take a human life. In fact, birth control is very effective if you don't want to get pregnant! Anyone have any thoughts on the topic? As a man I'm rather reluctant to express my thoughts on this contentious issue. In principle I am opposed to any form of intentional killing though I do grant that there are circumstances in which I adopt a rather different stance. My wife has very strong views on the issue which I respect but I feel that essentially abortion is an evil that is sometimes, alas, a necessary evil. Where the life of the mother is in danger, or where the pregnancy arises from an act of rape or incest, or where there is the possibility of genetic defects, I would not condemn a woman who chose to have an abortion. In the event of pregnancies arising from promiscuous sexual behaviour and the existence of a baby beeing deemed merely inconvenient, I would consider that the right to abortion was being misused for selfish ends. However, I do not support the recriminalisation of abortion.
