executing the mentally handicapped is wrong. However, if they knew the difference between right and wrong, we could still put them in prison. John Penry is a prime example of this.

I am sorry if my views and opinions may be unpopular. You do not have to apologize for your opinions or thoughts. They are yours and you have every right to feel as you do. I was just asking that today if we could take a break on discussing how safer the world will be if Richard Cartwright were to be executed. That is all I was asking. I respect your views and opinions. Just having a hard time today............................

I just gotback from the Post Office.... received a letter from Rich that he sent on monday.. he is in good spirits.. here's a quote from the letter:
"I'm ready to go kick Lonnie's a** in some handball, so it's all good".
Rich may God wrap his loving arms around you and your family all day today and see you through this very difficult time.

Well; I'm glad that you'll feel better and more secure in your personal life when you see that Richard Cartwright is dead. The reality is it WON'T MAKE A BIT OF DIFFERENCE. And you and family are NO safer - cause the people that might be a problem to you are WALKING free; not sitting in a jail cell for the last 9 years. It would be nice if you could attack some issues that would actually make the people and the children of the state safer; instead of having some kind of false comfort in the death of some guy thats been locked in a cage for nearly a decade. AMEN to that. I wonder why the UK abolished DP decades ago? Ummm... let me think... OH YES! Cause it's not humane and the British people together with their Government realised that there were alternative ways of dealing with people who murder. MURDER IS MURDER. right? What do you teach a kid? Murder is wrong... right? But Daddy what about the Death Penalty? Isn't that murder? In America, indeed it is. Let's not get side-tracked here. Richard and his family are going thru HELL right now. Instead of raising pointless debate, which at this time none of us can change, can we please pray for Richard? He's the priority here. Not debates on the rights or wrongs or DP. I made a point. That's it. Let's think about little Ricki in all this chaos.
